Join the NVFS Family: We are looking to hire Communications Specialist to join the NVFS Development team!

As the Development Communications Specialist, you will assist in creating and executing communications content for fundraising events, drives and projects. As the specialist, you will shepherd the creation of communications materials from the planning phase, to creation and completion, under the direction of the Director of Marketing and Communications and in collaboration other members of the development and communications team.

This position has a salary range in the mid 50s to 60s.

In this role, you will:

Create calendar and plans for the creation and distribution of NVFS fundraising content.Distribute fundraising emails and determine best times to distribute content to email lists, based on established editorial calendar.Work closely with events and drives team to develop and execute promotion and communications needs for fundraising drives. Develop promotion strategies, social media messages, content and emails related to the Back-to-School Drive, Fall Food Drive and Holiday Drives as well as in-person donor appreciation events.In collaboration with a freelance graphic designer, develop timely, effective and appealing content for the NVFS Gala – the organization’s largest yearly fundraising event.

This includes, but is not limited to content for promotional emails, posters, program booklets, and social media. etc.Coordinate finalized content with Development & Communications team in order for timely printing of materials.Work closely with corporate partnerships team on promotion needs for the yearly NVFS-hosted CARE Awards, including but not limited to posters, PowerPoint slides and winner promotion toolkit. Work with graphic designer to create more complex materials.Develop social media or email graphics for events and drives for use in public-facing content as needed.Attend occasional in-person events to foster relationships with donors and partners; manage participant questions and needs; distribute print materials; and provide communications and slideshow support.Participate in regular supervision with supervisor and provide regular updates.Remain current on knowledge of standards and other program-related information.Enter data for record keeping and reporting to meet relevant guidelines.

Your Background:

Relevant work experience; this can include internships, volunteering, or other professional or personal experiencesBachelor’s degree in Communications or related field, Associate’s degree or Communications-related certification preferred but not requiredFamiliarity with design programs such as Canva or Adobe Creative Suite preferredStrong written and verbal communication skills and detail-orientedAbility to work collaboratively across functions, programs, and departmentsOral and written fluency in English; Spanish language skills a plus but not required.
