Job DescriptionParadigm is looking for a mid-level Visual Designer to support our client's software UI team. This role is suitable for a proactive designer, open to growth, feedback, and grounded in user-centered design principles. You will collaborate with interaction and visual designers to create new software product experiences, and translate design intent and narrative into cohesive, comprehensive, compelling, and clean visual experiences. Experience with visual design mock-ups, rapid prototyping, motion graphics, data visualization, using a design system, and graphic design/visual design skills in software interfaces is preferred.

Responsibilities of the Visual Designer:
Understand the client's portfolio of products, users, business, and marketsProduce modern and captivating visual experiencesBalance imagery, typography, and interactions in compositionEnsure all visual elements are part of the client's unified Design System and effectively demonstrate design language and intentExecute on design concepts and ideas to bring ideas to life through imagery and visual representationContribute to presentation visualsManage a workload of multiple programs at different stages of developmentCollaborate with interaction and visual designers to create new software and product experiencesCreate design mock-ups at high quality with fast turnaround, and iterate quickly to visualize and evolve visual design solutionsDistill complex concepts and then quickly turnaround rigorous flows and mock-ups reflecting a range of simple, elegant, and technically feasible optionsWork closely with the software dev team to: support prototyping activities with visual design mock-ups/assets; capture and resolve bugs, including resolution of design inconsistencies, incorrect or missing graphic resources, etc.Understand learning experiences and creation of educational materialsCreate detailed documentation and specifications of user experience concepts and visual design specificationsRequirements

Bachelor's degree in Visual Design, Web Design, Graphic Design, or equivalent.Minimum 2 to 4 years working as Software UI Visual designer.Excellent visual standards and obsessive attention to detail; sense of color, scale, harmony, balance, and use of negative spaceDeep experience with user-centered design principles, methodologies, and user research.Skills in motion graphics, illustration, print production, presentations, concept creation and data visualizationExcellent and effective written and verbal communication skills; passion for innovation and exploration; positive attitude; reliableStrong listening, organizational, and interpersonal skillsSelf-motivated and seeks to solve problems independentlyStrong skills in creative design tools (Figma, Miro, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite, Zeplin)Ability to prototype using Figma, Adobe XD, Principle, InVision, Proto.io, or equivalentIn-depth understanding of mobile / desktop design standards and patterns (e.g. native components, best practices, etc.)In-depth understanding of Design Systems and contribute to their further development and maintenanceAptitude and cultural fit to inspire and collaborate within the multidisciplinary teamManage ambiguity, work autonomously and multi-task in an Agile environmentOpenness to receive constructive criticism and be able to internalize and make design revisions based on feedback from design leaders and design colleagues.A portfolio of work showcasing your skill set
