Be a part of the most creative and talented visual merchandising team in Austin. Four Hands is hiring an associate visual merchandiser who will be responsible for styling and assistant-styling product in Four Hands showrooms, facilities, and events. As a part of the Creative Services team within Sales and Marketing, you'll position Four Hands pieces in beautiful, inspiring environments with a focus on highlighting features and benefits, and providing scale and context for our customers (and theirs).
In This RoleWork under the guidance of visual merchandisers and project/production managers to assist in the styling and arrangement of products in industry trade showroomsParticipate in 10-day market set-ups, ensuring all elements are prepared and styled to meet high standardsTravel at least 8 times a year for planning pre-trips and 10-day market set-upsOrganize, clean, and maintain props and showroom spaces to ensure they are presentable and functionalManage relationship with plant vendors to ensure delivery, and pick upRun errands outside the showrooms including buying food props, sourcing design materials, and styling toolsPrepare soft goods (e.g., textiles, linens) for display using steamers or irons to ensure they are wrinkle-free and presentableCollaborate with the production team to select appropriate furniture and accessories that complement the overall stylingUphold our Core Values and be a valuable member of the Four Hands teamOther tasks as defined by managerThe Ideal Person
1+ year of experience in retail preferred but not requiredBachelor's degree in fine art, interior design, or equivalent creative experienceProficiency in basic computer applications, including email, spreadsheets, and presentation tools (PowerPoint, Google Slides, or Figma)Strong understanding of artistic composition, including visual balance and contrastAbility to source and curate design inspiration aligning with art direction.Basic knowledge of interior and set design principlesCapability to plan and execute creative concepts per directionPhysical ability to work on foot for up to 8 hours a day, 5 days a week, in a dynamic studio environmentValid driver's license with a reliable vehicleBenefits
