Job Title: Part-Time Graphic Designer/Photographer
Reports to: Production Manager
Job Summary:
Harmann Studios Inc. is seeking a versatile and creative individual for the dual role of Graphic Designer and Photographer. The ideal candidate will have a unique blend of artistic skills, technical proficiency, and a passion for visual storytelling. This role involves creating high-quality graphic designs and capturing stunning portrait photographs, contributing to various marketing and client projects. Additional duties as assigned will support the overall success of the studio.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform detailed color correction and retouching on photographs to ensure consistency and quality.Assist in the design and layout of memory books, print materials, and customized products.Use Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign and Lightroom) and other design tools to produce high-quality graphics and images.Maintain organized records of all image files, ensuring proper storage and backup.Develop and design marketing materials including brochures, flyers, banners, and social media graphics.Conduct professional portrait photography sessions for individuals, families, and groups.Collaborate with clients and internal teams to understand project requirements, plan shoots, and ensure alignment with client vision and brand guidelines.Apply expert knowledge of styling, composition, and lighting to create visually appealing photographs.Edit and retouch photographs to enhance image quality and meet client specifications.Ensure all photography equipment is properly maintained, organized, and prepared for each shoot.Work closely with the production team to meet deadlines and fulfill client requirements.Manage multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring timely completion and adherence to specifications.Profile paper and color manage printers to provide accurate and appealing color in portraits.Identify potential clients, develop new business opportunities, and grow the dance studio business through networking and outreach.Requirements:
Demonstrate a positive attitude and mindset aligned with Harmann Studios' Core Values (Caring, Creative, Superior Experience, All In).Exhibit a strong desire to work within a team environment and collaborate effectively with various departments.Maintain a high standard of professional behavior, interpersonal, and customer relation skills.Possess excellent listening, organization, communication, and presentation skills.Show self-motivation and initiative to meet team and individual goals.Accept and adhere to the business Non-Competition and Confidentiality Agreement.Bachelor's degree in graphic arts, design, photography, or related field, or equivalent experience.5-10 years of experience in graphic design and photography.Proficient in Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, Lightroom) and other relevant design software.Strong portfolio showcasing a range of graphic design and photography projects.Excellent eye for detail in editing images, with an emphasis on enhancing facial elements.Ability to learn and manipulate multiple formats of print presses to adjust them to desired output color.Knowledge of how custom printer profiles are made and implemented in a print shop environment.Solid knowledge of computers and working with monitors to display color accurately.Positive attitude, eager to provide assistance wherever needed for our customers and team members.Knowledge of Google Suites preferred.
