Position SummaryThe Operations & Facilities Management Department at Washington University School of Medicine is committed to delivering a comprehensive range of services to support the medical campus.

We oversee maintenance and operations for 65 buildings, covering more than 10.1 million gross square feet of space. This includes the 11-story, 609,000-square-foot neuroscience research building, which houses one of the world's highest concentrations of neuroscientists. Our responsibilities include operational and administrative support, strategic planning, and project management.

Furthermore, as the School of Medicine continues to expand its presence both on and off campus in areas such as teaching, clinical care, and research, our team remains instrumental in ensuring the seamless delivery of clinical care, advancing research initiatives, and facilitating educational endeavors.

Responsible for developing and executing operational communication strategies, initiatives, events, and event logistics. The position works collaboratively to consistently articulate the department's mission and vision. It also manages campus-wide programs, including the locker/shower, menstrual hygiene products, and lactation room programs.

Job Description

Primary Duties & ResponsibilitiesCrafts a strong communications strategy and evaluate public relations strategy.Reviews current media metrics and landscape to determine what strategies to develop and what outlets to target.Researches approaches at peer institutions and top practitioners to identify best practices and tactics that may be underutilized here.Develops individual story pitches.Writes/edits correspondence, transmits emails, brochures, presentations, newsletters, etc.Website content strategy and management.Develops branding and sponsorship content strategy.May develop proposals for grants and/or high-visibility projects.Manages campus-wide programs, including the locker/shower, menstrual hygiene products, and lactation room programs.Other duties as assigned.Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree.Five years of experience in communications, marketing, writing, and/or editing.Capable of independent work to manage long-term programmatic goals.Capable of working well with teams from diverse educational backgrounds, synthesizing the resulting output into a coherent whole.Demonstrated effective verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills to contribute toward writing grant proposals, websites and blogs, research publications, and internal/external scientific reports.Demonstrate our PRIDE core values at all times.Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree and three years of related experience or equivalent education and experience.

Salary Range$58,400.00 - $99,700.00 / Annually

The salary range reflects base salaries paid for positions in a given job grade across the University. Individual rates within the range will be determined by factors including one's qualifications and performance, equity with others in the department, market rates for positions within the same grade and department budget.
