The Opportunity:Are you interested in using your technical expertise and people skills to assist a public health client in their mission to establish a modernized data presence? Our team is looking for a technical writer who can work alongside subject matter experts (SMEs) to develop clear and helpful technical documentation that both our team and customers can use in their efforts to support this modernization goal.

As a technical writer on our team, you will be responsible for collaborating with data scientists, developers, and others to develop and publish technical documentation. You will work on a diverse range of documentation, from data platform services to artificial intelligence (AI) writing. You'll help our team members translate complex technical subjects and processes into accessible and well-structured guidance material. You must be able to use your writing skills to assist readers in making connections between granular concepts and big picture ideas. Your ability to facilitate discussions between SMEs and leadership is vital to ensuring that the documentation we produce to both our clients and team members is meaningful and professional. You should also be capable of effectively coordinating with SMEs across teams on any concerns or questions related to deadlines, documentation, or similar matters.

You Have:3+ years of experience with technical writing or documentationExperience gathering and converting data into a written narrative, including technical manuals, standard operating procedures, and policiesExperience translating complex technical concepts into clear, concise, and easy-to-understand documentation for both technical and non-technical audiencesExperience using Microsoft Office, Adobe Acrobat, and graphics tools to style, format, and layout technical documentsAbility to collaborate with technical SMEsAbility to obtain and maintain a Public Trust or Suitability/Fitness determination based on client requirementsBachelor's degree

Nice If You Have:Experience working in the public health fieldExperience writing technical training documentation related to AI, Azure services, or similar subscription-based application servicesExperience with SharePoint permissionsKnowledge of Power BI dashboards and how they functionKnowledge of Agile methodologies or DevOpsAbility to meet deadlines under tight time constraintsPossession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $54,000.00 to $123,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
