Marketing Specialist, HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development

Job Overview

The Marketing Specialist is responsible for planning, managing and delivering HoneyRock's marketing and communications plan. This position reports to the Director of Marketing, who oversees marketing planning and delivery for enrollment and advancement priorities, and the HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development. While a fully integrated member of the Wheaton College Office of Marketing Communications, it is essential that the Marketing Specialist has a close working relationship with the HoneyRock Center for Leadership Development. The primary responsibilities include the overall coordination and implementation of a comprehensive and strategic marketing plan for all programs and constituencies of HoneyRock. This position could be primarily located on the Wheaton main campus in Wheaton, Illinois, or at HoneyRock, in Three Lakes, Wisconsin.

Duties and Responsibilities

1. Marketing Promotion Planning & Execution: Lead marketing planning and execution to drive awareness, promotion, and measurable inquiry generation in coordination with the program directors for the following priority programs:Seasonal summer staff.Summer camp.Wheaton in the Northwoods ("WIN").Vanguard Gap Year.M.A., Outdoor Adventure Leadership.Others, as determined / prioritized.Note: For Advancement, priority responsibility is with the Donor Care and Operations Manager, with the Marketing Specialist available for consultation and input.

2. Marketing Communications & Content: Lead communication planning and execution with a focus on expanding and engaging HoneyRock's constituent base. Coordinates support from internal team members to deliver.

3. Website: Oversees and updates the HoneyRock website, which includes navigation, search engine optimization, photography, video, text, forms / call to actions, and back-end data reporting.

4. Social Media: Creates, manages and delivers social media strategy.

5. Market Research: Conducts as necessary and beneficial.

6. Summer Student Media Team: Recruits, hires, trains, and supervises to deliver quality content.

7. Special Projects: As needed, discussed and aligned based on capacity.

This job description is intended to represent key areas of responsibilities; specific assignments may vary from time to time and include other duties as assigned.

Location:

HoneyRock provides programming in two primary locations (Three Lakes, WI and Wheaton, IL) but also conducts programming in other locations. This is a hybrid position that requires being In office presence of approximately two days per week for team, meetings, 1-on-1's, and other key meetings as needed as well as travel. Location and working hour flexibility will be at the best discretion of the Director of Marketing in consultation with Honey Rock Executive Director.
