Position SummaryThe Marketing Coordinator will be an opportunity to emersed yourself in one of the most significant new arenas of our time. The right candidate is hard-working, driven, and thinks outside the box on creative projects. Teamwork and collaboration between the UBS Arena and New York Islander’s Marketing teams are critical for this role. This allows the candidate to help create the foundation for an arena making history in the marketplace. This role will report to the VP of Marketing

This role will pay an hourly wage of $24.

Benefits for FT roles: Benefits: Health, Dental and Vision insurance, 401(k) savings plan, 401(k) matching, and paid time off (vacation days, sick days, and 12 holidays).

This position will remain open until September 30, 2024

About the VenueUBS Arena at Belmont Park is made for music and built for hockey. New York's newest premier entertainment and sports venue and home of the New York Islanders is developed in partnership with Oak View Group, the New York Islanders, and Jeff Wilpon. The state of the art arena opened in November 2021 and has welcomed numerous top artists including Harry Styles, Sebastian Maniscalco, Billie Eilish, Dua Lipa, TWICE, Eagles, John Mayer, Kendrick Lamar and Post Malone. The venue delivers an unmatched live entertainment experience for guests including clear sightlines and premier acoustics.

ResponsibilitiesAssist the department with live event and broader marketing campaigns, including but not limited to:

Event Announcements & Launches:

Support new event announcements and on-sale event launches.

Media Plans and Event Support:

Assist in trafficking paid and trade media plans, including creative assets, agreements, budgets, and invoices. Provide assistance during the week of the show and on the day of the show for closing marketing needs.

Fan & Band Activations:

Coordinate support of day-of-event activations for fans and bands.

Content Coverage:

Assist with day-of-event content coverage.

Project Management:

Organization:

Aid the organization of the department’s project management system and structural tools such as Dropbox, Asana, etc.

Cross-Marketing Tasks with the New York Islanders:

Coordinate and assist to execute day-to-day recurring marketing tasks for cross-marketing with the New York Islanders.

Development Programs:

Lead development, expansion, and growth programs to enhance the reach of the arena’s marketing footprint, including:

Hotel concierge relations

Grassroots efforts

Enhancing local community partnerships

Sweepstakes opportunities

Content & Strategy:

New Content Ideation:

Generate new content ideas to promote upcoming events, partnership announcements, and more.

Influencer Relations:

Support department PR lead with influencer relations.

Content Strategy:

Assist with content strategy and creative briefs.

Digital Voice Execution:

Support the coordination of day-to-day execution of the digital voice with Director of Digital, with focus on email, and potential to include from time to time other channels.

General Support:

Aid with departmental needs as directed by the Director of Digital & Social and the VP of Marketing.

QualificationsQualifications:

Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Marketing, Public Relations, Communications, Hospitality/Sports Management, Business or a related field is preferred

Basic knowledge & interest in marketing and advertising functions

Intermediate to strong knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite

Understands the concept of branding

Intermediate knowledge of social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, etc.)

Working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint

Previous event or entertainment marketing experience a plus

Excellent writing and verbal communication skills in the English language

Well organized with ability to prioritize and handle multiple assignments

Flexible-must be available to work evenings, weekends, and all event days as assigned

Team player who is creative and a proactive problem solver
