The University of Tennessee Foundation, Inc (UTFI) invites applications and nominations to fill the position of

Marketing Cloud Manager

on the Advancement Services team. Reporting to the Director of Digital Strategy & Innovation, the Marketing Cloud Manager will be responsible for overseeing marketing operations activities within Salesforce Marketing Cloud - the UT Foundation's enterprise alumni and donor communications platform - including governance, business processes, and user enablement.

This role is pivotal in driving our digital marketing strategy, ensuring optimal inbox placement and deliverability, and enhancing engagement through expertly crafted marketing journeys. This position works closely with colleagues to improve email marketing conversion, adhere and advocate

for email marketing best practices, and boost fundraising and advocacy efforts with multiple audiences,

including alumni, donors, parents, students, faculty/staff and retirees.

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

Marketing Cloud Operations:

Serve as Marketing Cloud product owner and SME, managing its daily operations and governance to standardize usage across communication teams. Manage the structures, processes, and tools for content intake, planning, calendaring, creation, and distribution across the UT system. Provide training and support to team members on Marketing Coud features and best practices. Ensure compliance with industry regulations and best practices, including CAN-SPAM and GDPR.

Digital Marketing Strategy & Engagement:

Monitor and enhance email deliverability and inbox placement, resolving obstacles such as spam filters and block lists. Use Audience Builder to create advanced audience segments. Design, implement, and maintain automated journeys using Journey Builder and other tools to create seamless user experiences, enhance engagement and drive conversions. Track and analyze email performance metrics, generate regular reports, and present insights and recommendations to senior leadership and stakeholders.

Data Management:

Manage subscriber data, ensure data integrity and proper segmentation for targeted campaigns, and collaborate with data teams to integrate Marketing Cloud and CRM systems.

Qualifications:

Required Education and Experience

The candidate who fills the Marketing Cloud Manager position is required to have:

Bachelor's degree in communication, public relations, business, marketing, computer science, IT, or related fields2+ years of experience in email marketing and Marketing Cloud managementKnowledge of Marketing Cloud features, including Journey Builder, Automation Studio, Email Studio, and Audience BuilderExperience in building communications and creating content within a robust marketing platformAbility to facilitate solutions across multiple stakeholder groups and lead individuals who are not direct reportsStrong analytical skills with data management experienceExcellent communication and collaboration skillsPreferred Education and Experience

In addition to meeting the required qualifications, the preferred candidate will have:

Advanced knowledge of digital communication and marketing platforms, methods, and best practices3+ years of experience in marketing and Marketing Cloud ManagementFamiliarity with higher education advancement and fundraising processesSalesforce Marketing Cloud CertificationsApplication Process:
