Job Summary

The Fire Protection Designer is responsible for the complete design and management of fire protection projects to include design, submittal, survey, and fabrication. Designs include but are not limited to wet and dry sprinkler systems, standpipe systems, and fire pump room layouts.

Responsibilities:reviews project specifications and creates sprinkler system layoutsperforms hydraulic calculations to ensure system meets design requirementscreates material submittal packets and organizes submittals to state and municipal agenciesconducts surveys to minimize field conflictscoordinates with architects, engineers, and other tradesconducts BIM coordination using Navisworks softwarecreates shop drawings and stocklists for purchasing and fabricationcompletes As-Built drawings for finished installationsprovides technical assistance to customers and field personnelQualifications:

2+ years of sprinkler system design experience, including a variety of different systems and sizes and types of projectsproficient in the use of AutoCAD and HydraCADNICET level 2 for water-based systems layoutexperience with Revit preferredknowledge of various sprinkler systemsunderstands and can apply the regulations set by NFPAability to perform all aspects of a complete design within budgeted design hoursability to apply judgment and make decisionsability to effectively manage projectsPay Range$70,000-$100,000, dependent on experience
