JOB DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS MARKETING INSTRUCTOR:

This position is for a licensed teacher certified in business and marketing technology. The certification code(s) must include 250. This position is governed by state and federal laws and agency/institution policy. Business and Marketing teachers are responsible for instructing students in several business courses including Medical Coding & Billing. Said teacher must be efficient in developing or revising curriculum, maintaining classroom records, and developing/maintaining business relationships and internships for students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BUSINESS MARKETING INSTRUCTOR:

Maintain classroom records, including attendance records, credential attainment, progress reports, and graduate follow-ups.Teach on-line and on-site.Develop/maintain business relationships.Instruct students and lecture in the classroomDevelop activities for hands-on skill acquisition, including Field trips and Guest lecturersProvide both online and on-site instructional deliveryProficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPointEvaluate student performance by:Grading classroom workObserving skills demonstrationsGathering feedback from internship sitesDevelop and/or revise vocational education curriculum by:Researching educational and professional materialReviewing and selecting textbooksDeveloping course outlines and objectivesPreparing lesson plans and instructional aidsDevelop and maintain business relationships to support student internships and employmentMaintain current knowledge of in-demand industry skillsOther duties as assigned.MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS OF THE BUSINESS MARKETING INSTRUCTOR:

The formal education equivalent of a bachelor's degree in education; plus, one year of experience in the vocational area being taught.Must hold, or be qualified to obtain upon hiring, a teaching license by the Arkansas Department of Education in area being taught, in accordance with ACA 6-17-401, 6-17-402, and 6-17-403.
