The Social Media Manager will play a critical role in helping tell the "story" of the organization, across all clubs, and club functions. The role will be responsible for generating dynamic digital content across all club communication platforms, with the aim of deepening engagement with our core supporters AND developing/reaching new fans.

The position will work closely with the team's Marketing, Soccer Operations, and Communications departments while reporting directly to the Senior Director of Social Content and Strategy to set monthly, quarterly and annual objectives, and their execution.

Duties

Serve as a content lead producer and primary club-specific voice in covering the Timbers First Team and developmental propertiesConceive, strategize write and produce team coverage stories and features for use on digital and social media platformsProduce and oversee a calendar for team coverage plans, schedule and planningHelp to strategize and lead long-term content planningBuild out content measurement and analytics to measure important metricsWork alongside and collaborate with overall content stakeholders across the club including digital, social, marketing, communications, video, community, partnerships, etc.Stay up-to-date on emerging trends and technologies in sport, soccer and contentRequirements

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of experience and education3 to 5 years experience in social media or similar disciplinesDeep knowledge of soccer preferred - MLS experience and knowledge is a plusSupreme written and copywriting proficiencyAbility to edit the written word with clarity and styleProficiency across Adobe CC and other multimedia programs and applications a plusAvailable to travel as necessaryAbility to work nights, weekends and occasional holidaysSpanish language preferred, not required

The base wage range typically paid (based on minimum experience & qualifications) for this role would be $65-70k annually.
