Graphic Designer/ Production Artist

Under the direction of the Embellishment Development Supervisor, this position is responsible for creating and/or preparing high quality art files for production. This position ensures all scheduled projects are completed in a timely manner and production files are prepped and available to the Production team prior to the scheduled production date. Production Artists are responsible for maintaining a high standard of quality and efficient throughput. Responsible for exceeding department and individual goals.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

Must gain knowledge and become proficient in the use of Shopworks & Wilcom, Excell & outlook.Must have working knowledge of Adobe Photoshop & IllustratorMust understand and employ all department Standard Operating Procedures.Must learn or have existing experience with all production embellishment techniques and application (i.e. Screen Print, Heat Press, Engraving, Quality Control and Embellishment file formats).

Responsible for preparing high quality art files and mock-ups.Responsible for Weeding/Cutting Pre-Production heat press based on scheduleReviews work instructions in Shopworks that are assigned by the Customer Service Dept.Determines size and arrangement of graphic design and copy.Separates and prepares customers graphics to their specification for screen-printing, digital printing, heat-press, and engraving using Adobe Illustrator and Adobe Photoshop.Analyzes artwork to see if the graphic is acceptable for editing or recreation.Assists on creating proofs for customer approval.Edits and maintains customer logo changes when necessary.Reviews final layout of design and suggests improvements as needed.Assists in production first run approvals.Must gain knowledge about 5.11 Tactical products for proper determination if embellishment is applicable.Ensures designs are accurately prepared for production efficiency. Ie: Storing files, Recording, updating SW design information.Engineers production spec with proper color sequence and mesh selection.Responsible for assisting screen-printing, heat press and engraving teams with edits to designs.Responsible for monitoring due dates to meet or exceed customer’s expectations.Responsible for correctly storing art files and updating as necessary.Responsible for reporting their progress to the Embellishment Development Supervisor or Lead.Must keep up on current trends and advances in technology.Must commit to continued learning, to progress in one’s knowledge and capabilities.Assists with cross training co-workers and/or new hires.Productively Communicates to team members & all cross-functional partners.Maintains organization and cleanliness of work area and equipment.Performs other duties and tasks as assigned.

Education

:

Previous work experience in a screen print or embroidery company preferred.

PAY RANGE:

$20.00 - $22.00 per hour
