About the Role

As the Director of Product Marketing, you will be responsible for building, growing and leading an essential function at Cover Genius. Your team will develop, and execute innovative product marketing strategies that drive profitable and sustainable growth. You will play a critical role in demonstrating how Cover Genius can serve all protection needs globally through one API while delivering best-in-class customer experiences. Your strategic vision and leadership will be crucial in shaping the future of our product marketing efforts.

We're seeking a versatile marketer with a blend of experience that should include product marketing and some combination of content marketing, industry marketing, and sales engineering or product management. The ideal candidate will have a strong ability to learn quickly and adapt to new verticals. The successful candidate will also be a talented storyteller, equally comfortable authoring thought leadership content, sales narratives and go-to-market strategies.

To succeed in this role, you will have 10+ years of B2B marketing experience, with a proven track record of driving measurable results.

You will thrive in a fast-paced startup environment and possess a natural ability to build relationships across the organization.

Regular collaboration across all functional areas including but not limited to partnerships, partner services, solution design, technology, insurance services, integration, and legal will be key to helping you drive valuable business outcomes.

What will your day look like? You will...Become a vertical expert:

Leverage your experience working across multiple verticals and categories to quickly grasp the needs and priorities of our key vertical markets. Formulate compelling value propositions tailored to each client segment.Technical expert and customer champion:

Bridge the gap between our complex product architecture and customer needs. Translate technical offerings into clear, concise value propositions that resonate with customers in key verticals.Be the architect of a powerful content engine:

Establish and nurture a content engine that generates valuable stories and thought leadership content. This content will fuel sales materials, digital channels, ABM campaigns, events, and more.Master storyteller:

Simplify complex product features into compelling, succinct, narratives that resonate with clients.Internal influencer:

Build strong internal relationships across the organization. Your goal? To be a well-known and respected leader and resource within 90 days.Sales ally:

Become an extension of the sales team by creating impactful sales slides and narratives. You'll also actively support them during their most strategic meetings.Organizational planner:

Build a high-performing product marketing team from the ground up. This includes hiring top talent, establishing optimal organizational design, and fostering a collaborative environment.Focus on our value:

Take complex products and craft compelling, structured, and prioritized value stories.Time management and prioritization:

Manage your time and your team's time to effectively support sales, create content, and develop product messaging for new and existing offerings, always focused on what will drive the most value and help us achieve company goals.Content catalyst and product strategist:

When you first join, you'll initially focus on building a robust content engine. Over time, you'll flex into influencing product strategy, development etc.To help us level up, you'll ideally have:

10 or more years of Tech B2B marketing experience, including product and/or industry marketing.Proven track-record meeting and exceeding performance driven KPIs.Ability to pivot and change course as necessary to capitalize on market opportunities.A strong network of B2B marketing professionals is a plus.Demonstrated track record of collaborating with internal/external stakeholders, leading discussions across multiple teams and driving solution based outcomes in a timely manner.Exceptional written and verbal communication skills necessary. Comfortable working financial targets and business KPIs.Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, A postgraduate degree and/or record of academic achievement is also desirable.To be successful, you'll bring:

First class communication skills, able to present, negotiate and influence at C-level.Strong strategic thinking and problem solving skills; ability to think laterally and explore creative solutions in an entrepreneurial company.Appetite and enthusiasm for working as part of a Series E company that is not afraid of getting their hands dirty and supporting each other.A proactive bias to action, comfortable being empowered to champion issues to drive change and achieve the desired results.Ability to build rapport and engagement with stakeholders at all levels of an organization.Ability to deal with ambiguity while developing and executing strategic next steps to move the sales process forward.Experience working in a nimble startup environment. While we welcome relevant experience in organizations of all sizes, some startup experience will be highly beneficial in this role.

Salary Range

The base salary range for this role is between $174,000 and $240,000. The total compensation package also includes equity, and the opportunity for additional earnings through our annual bonus or variable commission plans.
