Position SummaryAs the Social Media Manager, you will be responsible for developing and implementing social media strategies to enhance The Hip Hop Museum (THHM) brand presence and engage our target audience. You will oversee all aspects of our social media channels, including content creation, community management, and analytics. You will be required to run advertising campaigns and drive engagement by creating high-quality content. You should also engage influencers, manage our community by responding to comments, and oversee our customer service across all platforms. The Social Media Manager will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align social media efforts with overall marketing objectives and business goals for the museum.Essential Duties and Responsibilities (including, but not limited to)THHM Social Medial Manager will be responsible for developing and implementing social awareness, drive engagement, and generate leads.Manage and maintain all social media channels, including but not limited to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, LinkedIn, and TikTok.Create high-quality, engaging content for social media platforms, including text posts, graphics, videos, and interactive elements.Monitor social media trends and news to identify opportunities for content creation and audience engagement.Plan and execute social media campaigns, promotions, and contests to support marketing initiatives and product launches.Maintain a social media Calendar that includes, but is not limited to, planning and scheduling content in advance to ensure a consistent posting schedule.Track important dates, events, and promotions to ensure timely content delivery.Engage with followers and respond to comments, messages, and inquiries in a timely and professional manner.Collaborate with internal teams, including marketing, sales, and customer service, to ensure consistency of messaging and brand voice across all channels.Analyze social media performance metrics, track key performance indicators (KPIs), and generate reports to assess the effectiveness of social media efforts.Stay up to date with social media best practices, algorithms, and platform updates, and incorporate new features and trends into our social media strategy.Monitor and manage social media advertising campaigns, including budget allocation, targeting, and optimization.Perform other tasks as assigned or needed to support the work of the Communications Department.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIESExcellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft compelling content and engage with diverse audiences.Proficiency in social media management tools, analytics platforms, and content creation software.Strong understanding of social media algorithms, metrics, and best practices across various platforms.Creative thinker with the ability to generate innovative ideas and solutions for social media content and campaigns.Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting, with strong interpersonal skills and a positive attitude.Experience with social media advertising, including Facebook Ads Manager, Google Ads, and LinkedIn Ads, is a plus.Knowledge of SEO principles and content marketing strategies is desirable.Supervise social media interns and volunteers.EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

Bachelor's degree in media studies, social or digital media, or communications.Minimum 2-4 years of progressively responsible experience in the social media field.Or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.Demonstrated track record of creating a successful campaign, growing online audiences, and increasing engagement.WORKING CONDITIONSWork is normally performed indoors.Ability to work weekends, evenings, and holidays as needed.Flexible schedule to work additional hours as needed.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS
