LOCATION:

Waltham MA (hybrid – 8 days in the office per month)

You will serve as a strategic business partner for the Compliance Solutions business unit within the Financial & Corporate Compliance (FCC) division. The candidate is responsible for the leadership, strategy, and execution of the branding and internal and external communications function for the Compliance Solutions business unit.

Your role is a dedicated full-time role to the Compliance Solutions business unit and is part of the Compliance Solutions Leadership Team. Working closely with other functional and business leaders, this role directly supports and advises the Compliance Solutions business unit CEO and their executive leadership team.

Your role will coordinate communications strategy and messaging across the Compliance Solutions BU based on the Wolters Kluwer Branding-, Internal and External Communications Strategy as designed and decided by the function.

Professionality, strategic thinking, customer focus, setting priorities, able to cascade central programs and adapt to the divisional needs, next to energy, excitement, creativity, passion, ability to both strategize and execute, lead change management, and collaborate in a matrixed environment are essential.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Your main responsibilities are to provide Compliance Solutions business unit leadership with strategic communications and brand counsel, while collectively building the Wolters Kluwer brand and story as part of the GBCM team.

This includes positioning counsel, advice, and coaching for business leaders based on Compliance Solutions’ business objectives, as well as sharing innovation and technology developments and ambitions, portfolio and customer success/insights, market trends and competitive positioning, and business performance with the rest of GBCM.

Branding & Digital Marketing:

Support Compliance Solutions’ alignment with the global brand and digital marketing activities as developed and guided by the Global Branding & Digital Marketing teams.

Give Compliance Solutions BU input on global branding programs and digital marketing programs.

Support the rollout of Branding & Digital Marketing programs as they apply to the Compliance Solutions business unit. Track results and drive reporting.

Responsible for business unit content freshness at the digital marketing platforms (including corporate website and global social media platforms as applicable), including interest areas, news, and insights.

External Communications

:

Based on the overall external communications strategy developed and executed by the Global Communications team, support the development, planning, and execution of Compliance Solutions’ contribution to Wolters Kluwer's global media and PR activities—this includes specific Compliance Solutions business unit needs.

Partnering with the dedicated external communications lead for Compliance Solutions, support key media relations initiatives aimed at elevating the overall visibility of Compliance Solutions and/or protecting its reputation in the media.

Help to guide and coordinate key media relations initiatives at the Compliance Solutions business unit level – including the issuance of press releases and media alerts.

Inform the media relations team in advance of upcoming key Compliance Solutions business unit initiatives (product launches, innovation efforts, partnerships, M&A, customer wins, etc.) and published Compliance Solutions research such as: whitepapers, web content, key people appointments, etc.

In close collaboration with the GBCM team, partner with the external communications team on:

Media and presentation training within the division

Social media engagement strategy and placement

Review, analyze and share with key internal stakeholder’s relevant media articles/social posts that mention FCC / Wolters Kluwer

Coordinate with the external communications team on specific crisis/issue management responses, internally and externally.

Oversee the crisis communications skills within the direct Compliance Solutions team – recommend training (as provided by the central team) as needed.

Internal Communications:

Identify strategic needs for Compliance Solutions business unit employee communications; develop employee communications priorities, strategies and tactics, with involvement and in agreement with the Compliance Solutions business unit leadership Team.

Create Compliance Solutions business unit -specific internal and external CEO communications, presentations, video messaging as needed.

Implement and lead forums to facilitate Compliance Solutions employee engagement (all-employee meetings, etc) always with a “listening ear” – based on the overall strategy for employee communications.

Monitor through measurement the impact of internal communication initiatives on employee engagement.

Support GBCM employee communications in driving the cascading of strategic priorities and messages throughout the organization, partnering with the Compliance Solutions executive team define and execute impactful communications.

Cascade Global Programs and materials within the Compliance Solutions business unit– as developed by the Global Communications team.

Other Duties:

Contribute to function-wide initiatives and taskforces.

Provide input and feedback for the Compliance Solutions business unit's internal and external websites and social media platforms in collaboration with GBCM teams.

Coordinate global digital marketing needs across Compliance Solutions in collaboration with GBCM teams.

Support customer events, innovative events, recognition programs, and other Compliance Solutions programs – as applicable to the Compliance Solutions business unit.

Manage Compliance Solutions business unit acquisition and divestiture communications within GBCM – based on centralized guidance and direction.

Use GBCM Operations tools to monitor and measure impact.

Qualifications:

Education:

Bachelor’s or BS degree required; preferably in public relations, communications, or marketing; or related experience.

Experience:

8+ years of communications/brand experience, global, in a public corporation, in a product and services environment, ideally in the software or financial services industry.

A proven track record of working effectively with the C-suite and leading effective internal communication driving employee engagement and understanding of business targets.

Experience in developing and implementing strategic communications plans, internally and externally.

Has shown organizational agility in dealing with multiple internal stakeholders and partners, working in a matrix organizational model working with multiple stakeholders.

Excellent professional skills while in a senior role working within a fast-paced environment.

Agency management experience preferred.
