The full salary range for this role reflects the competitive labor market value for all employees in these positions across the national market and provides an opportunity to progress as employees grow and develop within the role. Some roles at Liberty Mutual have a corresponding compensation plan which may include commission and/or bonus earnings at rates that vary based on multiple factors set forth in the compensation plan for the role.

As a Technical Director you will provide risk control services to our Manufacturing Industry footprint, Ergonomics/ Manufacturing Technology areas. This focus includes: Manual Material Handling, Upper Extremities/ Repetitive Task Analysis, and Machine Safeguarding. Our Technical Directors will be responsible for providing expert consultative services to an assigned group of National size customers as part of a local workload. You will be conducting on-site evaluations, data analysis, and service plans to control customers' sources of risk, losses, and costs. As a Technical Director – Ergonomics, you will provide service to engaged accounts and demonstrate the value of doing business with Liberty Mutual. You will also serve as a coach to less experienced consultants and support their skill growth to intermediate/advanced levels. Finally, the role supports areas of expertise through speaking engagements at conferences, developing key relationships, and publishing safety-related articles in professional publications.ResponsibilitiesProvides an array of expert consultative services to an assigned group of customers and consultants within the ergonomics line of business; focusing on Manual Material Handling and/or Upper Extremities Analysis.Conducts on-site evaluations, evaluates data, and creates/implements service plans to control customers' sources of risk, loss, and/or costs.Provides manufacturing/ergonomics expertise and technical support to other risk control employees by advising them about resources available, legislation and applicable regulations, technology, industry trends, and effective methods to reduce risk, improve customer satisfaction, and demonstrate the value of doing business with Liberty Mutual.Monitors and evaluates the technical quality of property risk control services provided by less experienced consultants.Provides coaching, mentoring, and training to enhance their development and effectiveness.Collaborates with management in developing policies, procedures, service tools, technical resources, techniques, and new products in order to support and enhance the delivery of property risk control services consulting services.Participates in actively acquiring and retaining profitable business.Identifies new business opportunities for risk control services and may design and execute programs that improve results and increase the number and quality of services customers choose to buy.Enhances Liberty Mutual's leadership and increases brand awareness through speaking engagements at conferences and developing a network of publishing safety-related articles (about one or more specialty areas) in professional publications.Responsible for ongoing review, assessment, and integration of various internal and external vendor applications to improve the assessment of risk for underwriting and customer service purposes.Designation of: CPE / CSP Highly Preferred.Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree with coursework in math, engineering, or related areas (or equivalent) and at least 10 years of directly related consulting experience in loss prevention or progressive safety/health field. Candidates are typically working towards (or obtained) an advanced degree and/or professional certification in one or more of the following areas: CSP, ARM, CRM, CPCU, CIH, or CPE. Advanced knowledge, skills, and experience in a specialized field, service planning and delivery, risk assessment, risk analysis, solutions management, and progress measurement.Fully effective interpersonal, writing, and other communication skills, required to develop and maintain relationships with customers, peers, and industry contacts.Excellent coaching and mentoring skills.Demonstrated ability to retrieve and enter information using various proprietary software applications and create/modify documents and complex spreadsheets using Microsoft Office suite.Position requires regular travel.About Us
