About the White River State Park:
White River State Park is a 250-acre urban state park in Indianapolis that welcomes nearly 4 million visitors a year. The park is comprised of cultural attractions and outdoor event spaces in the heart of downtown. White River State Park is home to the Everwise Amphitheater, IMAX Theater, Indiana State Museum, Eiteljorg Museum of American Indians and Western Art, NCAA Headquarters & NCAA Hall of Champions, Indianapolis Zoo, and the Indianapolis Indians at Victory Field. The only urban state park in the country, White River State Park hosts world-class concerts, arts and cultural exhibits, sporting events, and several meetings and special events throughout the year.
Role Overview:
This position serves as the Digital Marketing Coordinator for White River State Park (WRSP). The incumbent will work with the marketing and communications team on the execution of the park’s digital strategy. This position interacts frequently with marketing and communications partners at the White River State Park attractions and with Indianapolis’ tourism industry. The digital marketing coordinator will work occasional shifts in the park visitor center. The candidate selected will have a passion for White River State Park, a desire to grow their career in tourism, marketing and/or communications and have superior customer service skills. This is a full-time position.
Salary Statement :
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $40,000.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
• Be an enthusiastic and knowledgeable ambassador for White River State Park
• Manage and create engaging content for the park’s social media accounts (@whiteriverstprk)
• Develop a distinct “voice” for park social media accounts
• Produce regular email marketing pieces
• Promote upcoming and current events at White River State Park and its attractions
• Develop and maintain a digital presence with park attractions, tourism entities, and other stakeholders
• Create, edit, and organize photos and video of the park and its attractions
• Build relationships with attraction marketing and communication staff as well as other park partners
• Respond promptly to internal and external communications as well as social media direct messages
• Ensure proper style and brand management in created materials
• Operate within assigned marketing budget
• Staff the park visitor center including occasional weekend shifts during event season (April-October) as needed.
• Performs other duties as assigned

What You'll Need for Success:
Position requires a bachelor’s degree in marketing, communications, graphic design, or a related field with a minimum of 2 years of experience, including internships and fellowships
Unimpeachable integrity and trustworthiness
Strong writing, editing, and proof-reading skills
Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite
Experience with Adobe Creative Suite and Canva
Strong organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines for multiple projects running simultaneously.
Photography and videography experience, including use of Adobe Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Lightroom, or similar programs desired
Ability to organize meetings and attend events as a representative of WRSP
Superior time management skills and the willingness to work the occasional early morning, late evening, weekend, or holiday shift
Ability to work independently at times and be self-motivated and outdoors with occasional physical exertion
Strong written and oral communication skills; position requires frequent interactions with park visitors, commissioners, and state government leaders
Familiarity with White River State Park
Ability to analyze and solve complex challenges
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
