----Job Details:General NotesThe Office of Information Technology at the Dell Medical School is looking for an Instructional Designer.

PurposeThe Instructional Designer is responsible for delivering optimal learning solutions that advance the mission of the Medical Education Department within the Dell Medical School. The position will require a collaborative individual who's familiar with instructional design and pedagogical best practices to incorporate innovative technologies into teaching and learning.

ResponsibilitiesSupport the development, adoption, and improvement of Instructional Technologies across Dell Medical School and evaluate their effectiveness in meeting learning objectives.

Meet with faculty and staff to assist with course design and delivery in complex learning environments.

Build and maintain the Canvas learning management system and its courses with integrations like Design Tools and Examsoft.

Conduct workshops, office hours, and one-on-one sessions related to instructional technology use.

Present and make recommendations regarding instructional technology applications and delivery options.

Other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Instructional Technologies or related field and 2 years experience designing and supporting education applications in a higher education setting. Proficient in Canvas Learning Management System (LMS) or another LMS. Aptitude for instructional or technical problem-solving in a complex environment. This includes analysis, presentations of findings, and preparation of recommendations and technical specifications to various levels of stakeholders. Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a dynamic environment with staff, faculty, administrators, and students. Exceptional customer service skills, with the ability to engage multiple internal and external stakeholders with decorum and tact. Proven ability to work horizontally to help influence decisions and outcomes in areas beyond one's direct control.

Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.

Preferred Qualifications

Master's degree or graduate coursework in a relevant discipline (instructional design, educational technology, or closely related field). Demonstrated experience working with graduate medical education faculty. Proven skill in developing, designing, or implementing immersive solutions utilizing VR and AR technologies. History of developing courses within an LMS like Canvas. Knowledge of API's and LTI. Knowledge of web programming

Salary Range

$65,000+ depending on qualifications

Working Conditions

Repetitive use of a keyboard at a workstation.

Occasional weekend, overtime and evening work to meet deadlines.
