Description
We are hiring a 2024 Interior Design Intern to join our Global Design team! In this role, you would be getting hands-on experience with a design team that works on projects from concept through execution.
This is a great opportunity to gain experience with seasoned designers at an industry leading company. We do not create synthetic projects just for interns to work on, our intent is for interns towork as entry level designersin our studio working on explorations and projects from concept through execution. You'll play an integral role in the success of ourupcoming showroom renovations in large metropolitan cities.
What You Will Be Doing:Overall conceptual design and exploration of the customer experienceBrand storytelling through spaceSpace planningDesign and specifications of furnishings and finishesHands-on development of prototypes and custom design elementsAssist designers in project tasks, such as documenting projects, building digital models, and preparing for presentationsSupporting installations
Additionally, you'll enjoy the opportunity to regularly work and network with a wide variety of global teams to learn about other areas of design that may interest you, like materiality, product design, user experience design, etc.
Your Future Team:This small and mighty team of 10 is comprised of senior and principal designers, a project manager, a leader, and a few interns.We are in constant collaboration as a team and work cross-functionally.Our design group is aesthetically and culturally diverse.We are a flexible and open group of people.We believe you'll learn we are approachable, open to questions, new ideas and care about your growth and success. Our award-wining team is eager to mentor you.We truly believe in autonomy and trust you to accomplish your goals.Lastly, you'll sit alongside of fellow innovators including product engineers, model makers and industrial designersWho You Are:Do you desire to learn new things?Would others describe you as passionate?Are you both creative and analytical?Do you enjoy using your strong communication skills to collaborate?Are you able to juggle several conflicting tasks at once, prioritize them then execute?Do you have a diverse background of experiences?Preferred Skills and CompetenciesJunior, Senior, or Graduate design student statusPreferreddegrees and disciplines:Interiors, ArchitectureYou should be proficient in: SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite and AutoCADExperience with CET Designer, Enscape, Revit, Rhino, and Grasshopper are a bonus!Portfolio required for consideration, please provide link or provide your portfolioExpected Start Date : ASAP for part-time local
Additional Details:This position involves frequent local travel and reliable transportation is preferred.
