We’re a diverse, multidisciplinary team of world-class designers who are hard at work transforming the experience of shopping for your home. Our design practice is collaborative, data-driven, and fast-paced.We’re also the Platforms team, enabling our partners to design, build, test, and iterate on amazing customer-facing experiences with nuance at any scale. Our Experimentation space is part of this work, building tools for testing content and measuring results with precision within an immensely configurable ecosystem.What You’ll DoA strong candidate will relish the opportunity to jump into a highly visible workstream that drives significant impact. You are an empathetic designer, leader, and partner who can dive deep into a domain, drive a vision, and execute on new opportunities end-to-end. Additionally, you’re gifted in UI design, are user-centered, and love turning quantitative and qualitative findings into insights and strategy to drive product priorities.As a member of Experience Design:Utilize design thinking principles to build engaging user experiences which solve goals with elegant simplicity.Collaborate with product managers, developers, user researchers, and other experience designers to execute design concepts that deliver on user & business goals, and are technically feasible to implement.Drive a sense of urgency in the team to deliver work, emphasizing the use of lean tools and techniques to more rapidly deliver work.Day-to-day work will consist of a combination of product oversight, design execution, and gaining user insights.Demonstrate strong collaboration and communication skills. Be a strategist who can take a step back on overarching goals and opportunities, while also acting as a product practitioner who can meticulously work alongside their teams with domain knowledge and design prowess.Contribute to the development of team members through dedicated mentorship, or less formal coaching and advice.As a member of Experimentation:Support our internal Experimentation platforms, Gambit and Block Builder.Dive deep into understanding our platforms’ users to uncover foundational needs, current pain points, and future opportunities.Create a long-term vision for these platforms, as well as where and how they should integrate into Wayfair’s broader content management ecosystem.Drive end-to-end experiences and enhancements, from discovery through ideation and refinement - then learning from the results to inform future work.Run point for XD on AI initiatives that relate to Experimentation.We Are a Match Because You Have:8+ years of design experience, with strong experience in internal tooling and/or e-commerce experiences.Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or equivalent combination of education and experience.Exceptional interpersonal, collaborative, and creative problem-solving skills.Strong understanding of design processes; knowledge of what is possible and what will be hard to achieve and/or implement in a digital environment.Expertise in producing design deliverables, including detailed user flows/task flows, user journeys, page flows, taxonomies/folksonomies, wireframes, annotations, and prototypes that represent interaction recommendations.Strong skills in modern design tools like Figma.Working knowledge of HTML/CSS/JS (hands-on skills a plus).An online portfolio of case studies that demonstrates an ability to effectively design for highly technical experiences, unfailing advocacy for the user, data-driven approach, and strategic thinking.
