Senior Communications Specialist

As our Sr. Communications Specialist, you will be pivotal in keeping our employees engaged and motivated as we continue to transform GEICO Tech and roll out new technologies to the business. You will shape and implement our internal communications strategy, ensuring alignment and consistency across Field Engineering and the organization.

Reporting to the Sr. Manager., Business Engagement, you'll have the opportunity to make a tangible impact on our growing team's communication landscape. The ideal candidate thrives in a collaborative, dynamic environment and can adapt quickly to meet the needs of our stakeholders.

Roles & Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute a comprehensive internal communications strategy that drives employee results while reinforcing GEICO's mission and values
  • Manage the development and execution of email, text and newsletter campaigns for Field Engineering & engineering initiatives
  • Coordinate executive communications to ensure uniform messaging across diverse internal channels, including Slack, email, and all-company meetings
  • Monitor and assess the effectiveness of internal communication initiatives, offering insights and recommendations for continual improvement
  • Create and update content on Field Engineering's SharePoint site. Including writing/editing news articles, updating/editing web pages, etc.


Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, marketing, a related field, or equivalent experience
  • At least 3 years' experience in internal communications in IT/Tech or a fast-paced environment
  • At least 1 year experience in developing and executing internal communication plans, including content creation, distribution and engagement analysis


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with a knack for crafting clear and compelling messages tailored to diverse audiences
  • Strong interpersonal skills, enabling you to build and nurture relationships across all levels of the organization
  • Proven time and project management skills with experience managing projects spanning across multiple stakeholders
  • Ability to balance independent work with team collaboration to drive projects forward
  • Ability to analyze data to inform communication recommendations
  • Experience using APA style
  • Experience with Adobe (e.g., Photoshop)


Annual Salary
$70,000.00 - $126,000.00
The above annual salary range is a general guideline. Multiple factors are taken into consideration to arrive at the final hourly rate/ annual salary to be offered to the selected candidate. Factors include, but are not limited to, the scope and responsibilities of the role, the selected candidate's work experience, education and training, the work location as well as market and business considerations.
