Assistant Designer

Design Assistant will play a critical role in coordinating style development from conception to production hand-off. They will assist the design department with various tasks. The design assistant will maintain and enhance our established brand integrity, throughout the design and development processes.Duties:Assist with checking, printing, organizing line sheets for photo shoots, meetings, shipping, and updating line sheet books.Assist with style out for each division and season, cataloging and photographing styles chosenAssist in cataloging the trim books for each seasonAssist with ordering and tracking, send outs, and development and layout of trimsAssist with special projects, workload, cut tickets, and distribution when neededMange and organize all design departments' closetsAssist in overseas full packages and getting them out in a timely manner, follow up, and tracking them daily, checking in SMS's when they return.Manage all aspects of SMS process from cut, sew, garment dye and shipping to showrooms.Checking SMS as they are completed before shippingCommunicating with all showrooms and vendors regarding shipment datesAttend and assist with fittings and fit meetings both on- and off-siteReview, spec and comment on TOP samplesHand design sketch for domestic and overseas groupsRun high-low reports of sellingCoordinate and present hand-off meetings seasonallyRun errands to photo shoot when necessary.Attend vendor meetings for new developments, trims, fabric and printsOrdering test and salesmen sample fabrics and trimsOther duties may be assignedQualifications:Design degree or Bachelor's degree in apparel, fashion, or a related field; or equivalent experienceProficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)Proficiency with Mac applicationsOrganized and extreme attention to detailAbility to meet deadlines under pressureStrong communication skillsThis is a full-time position; associate must be able to work 40 hours a week
