We are seeking a skilled and experienced Contract Grant Writer to join our team and support our funding efforts by researching, crafting compelling grant proposals and submitting as well as supporting reporting requests.

Part II. Position Information

Title: Contract Grant Writer

Location: Richmond, VA (Remote)

Title of Immediate Supervisor: Chief Operating Officer

Compensation:$50-$65/hr. based on experience; (10-20 hours a week depending on workflow)

Duration: 6-12 Months with further discussion for continuation

Position Overview: The Contract Grant Writer will be managed by the COO of Commonwealth Autism, and work closely with our development team to research, write, and submit grant proposals to various funding organizations, including foundations, government agencies, and corporate sponsors. This role requires a deep understanding of grant writing, strong writing skills, and the ability to align proposals with the organization's goals and funding priorities.

Key Responsibilities:Grant Proposal Writing:Research and identify potential funding opportunities that align with the organization's mission and programs.Write clear, persuasive, and tailored grant proposals, including narrative sections, budgets, and supporting documents.Ensure all proposals meet the specific guidelines and requirements of the funding agency.Research and Analysis:Conduct thorough research on potential funders, including their giving history, priorities, and application processes.Analyze and synthesize complex information from various sources to build compelling case statements.Collaboration and Coordination:Work closely with program managers, finance staff, and other key stakeholders to gather information and ensure accurate representation of programs and budgets.Coordinate the proposal submission process, including tracking deadlines and managing multiple proposals simultaneously.Reporting and Documentation:Prepare and submit grant reports to funders as required, ensuring compliance with reporting requirements and deadlines.Maintain accurate records of grant applications, responses, and related correspondence.Quality Assurance:Review and edit grant proposals for clarity, coherence, and adherence to funder guidelines.Proofread and ensure all documents are error-free and professionally presented.Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in English, Communications, Nonprofit Management, Public Administration, or a related field. Master's degree preferred.Proven experience (3+ years) in grant writing and successful proposal development, preferably in a similar sector.Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with the ability to write in a clear, concise, and persuasive manner.Strong research skills and the ability to analyze and synthesize information.Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines.Strong attention to detail and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
