Background:MCCOY Inc. is the nonprofit youth services intermediary organization for Indianapolis and Marion County with a 30+-year history of championing the positive development of youth through community and systems change. We serve as a gateway, capacity builder, advocate, connector, and champion of youth engagement and empowerment. Our work is focused on building a community where all youth have access to the support and opportunities they need to grow into successful adults.MCCOY strives to provide unbiased, helpful information to families, service providers, leaders, community members, families, youth, media representatives, and others. MCCOY uses various media channels and tools to share information, engage with interested parties, and share our organization's impact and good work. We also engage with community members and corporate leaders to secure sponsorships and financial support for our work.Position Summary:MCCOY has an immediate, full-time opening for our Director of Communications and Development. This person leads all marketing and communications efforts sharing MCCOY’s story, linking youth and families to our community’s supportive resources, promoting the positive development, young people in our community and supporting the marketing and communication needs of our programs. This director will create and distribute our regular newsletters, be responsible for ensuring brand promotion and consistency across our work and managing our network of recipients of our information.Additionally, this leader on our team will work with the Executive Director and in the near term our fundraising consultant to spearhead our development initiatives in the community including securing sponsorships, developing fundraising initiatives and overseeing donor relations. This is a newer area of focus for MCCOY and requires a leader with experience in fundraising and a willingness to be innovative and assertive in developing and implementing new strategies.Position Reports to:

MCCOY’s Executive DirectorPrimary Responsibilities:Strategic Communications Plan : Develop and implement an annual plan to effectively communicate MCCOY’s mission and impact to diverse audiences.Media Relations : Engage with local media to promote MCCOY’s initiatives and raise awareness about youth issues. Prep staff members and young people with talking points and coaching prior to media interviews.Social Media Management : Create and manage content for MCCOY’s social media channels, ensuring brand awareness while providing meaningful interaction with the community regarding youth issues, resources, and initiatives.Content Creation : Write, design, and publish newsletters and email blasts to share MCCOY opportunities and resources in the Central Indiana community that benefit youth, families, and the youth-serving community.Website Management : Update and refresh content on MCCOY’s and partner websites to keep information relevant and accurate for diverse audiences, including youth workers, families, community leaders, and more.Analytics and Reporting : Evaluate engagement metrics for web, social media, and email campaigns; provide insights to enhance outreach and demonstrate outcomes to funders.Brand Oversight : Ensure consistent application of MCCOY’s branding and branding standards for all distribution materials in each of our initiatives.Youth Activity Directory : Oversee the production and promotion of the Youth Activity Directory, including the development of an online directory/database.Event Coordination : Plan and staff community events and fairs to increase visibility and engagement.EveryAction Administration : Manage the EveryAction nonprofit platform, including email lists, sign-up and donation forms, and training other staff members to use the platform.Promotional Materials : Support staff projects by creating necessary promotional materials that highlight MCCOY opportunities and impact.Annual Report : Design and publish MCCOY’s annual report to highlight achievements and real-world impact through quantitative and qualitative storytelling and visuals.Fundraising Support : Collaborate with the Executive Director and the board’s Resource Development Committee to support fundraising communications and marketing efforts.Required Skills:Analytical Skills:

Developing corporate sponsorship and funding partnerships in support of MCCOY’s strategies and programs.Platform and software knowledge:

Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite, and WordPress required; knowledge of EveryAction or equivalent contact management system preferredRelevant Education:

Bachelor’s degree in journalism, public relations, marketing, communications, or another relevant field strongly preferred.Relevant Experience:
