Position Overview:

Youth Dynamics' mission is to invite and challenge youth to a lifelong adventure with Christ and His church. This full-time ministry position exists to strengthen and further the mission through effective communication, development, and marketing strategies.

Youth Dynamics is seeking a Communications and Development Manager. This role is critical for our mission's work of sharing the gospel and communicating how God is working in the lives of young people. The ideal candidate is a person who loves Jesus, has a heart for youth ministry, desires to work in a Christian environment, and is excited to use their skills to further our incredible mission! This position is a melding of two essential roles. The Communications Manager will oversee all internal and external communications, ensuring consistent and impactful messaging across various platforms to enhance our mission and engage our community. This role also involves developing and executing a comprehensive communications strategy, including social media, newsletters, direct mail, and website content. This person serves as a collector and disseminator of the stories and mission impact of our ministry. The Development Manager role will be responsible for designing and implementing strategic fundraising initiatives to support our mission, including donor engagement, grant writing, and organizing events. This role also involves collaborating with the board and volunteers to lead strategic initiatives and foster a culture of giving and ministry sustainability.

Key Responsibilities and Expectations

Develop and implement comprehensive communication and fundraising strategies to support the mission and goals of the organization.Oversee the creation and distribution of all marketing and communication materials, including newsletters, social media content, and website updates, ensuring consistent branding and messaging across all channels.Manage relationships as needed, including sharing student stories, responding to inquiries, and fostering positive relationships with staff, donors, stakeholders, and the community.Lead the charge on integrating the Youth Dynamics Foundation in communication and development strategies and maintain Foundation website (once launched).Maintain, identify, and cultivate relationships with existing and potential donors, sponsors, and partners to secure ongoing support, including financial and in-kind donations. This role does require boldness to seek out and directly ask for financial donations and partnerships. Ownership of our donor landscape and responsible for reports and updates in donor software.Coach ministry areas and adventure bases on resource development, grants, appeal letters, etc.Collaborate with the President, board of directors, volunteers, and staff to promote a culture of philanthropy and community engagement, providing training and support in effective communication practices, media interactions, and fundraising activities.Analyze and report on the effectiveness of communication and fundraising strategies, making data-driven recommendations for improvement and staying current with industry trends and best practices.Exhibit creativity and innovation in developing communication and fundraising strategies and materials, demonstrating strong written and verbal communication skills tailored to our target audiences.Oversee and maintain video library and printed materials.Stay current with industry trends in nonprofit communications and donor management best practices. Exhibit a thorough understanding of fundraising principles, techniques, and best practices.Other duties as assigned by your supervisor.Reports to: the President

Supervises: Interns, MarCom and Social Media Teams

Works Collaboratively with: Leadership Team, Board of Directors, Support Services Team, and Staff teams

Qualifications:Active and growing relationships with Christ.Bachelor's degree in Communications, Marketing, or Business (or similar)3-5 years of related experience (desired).Clear, concise, and compelling communication skills (written and oral).High level of professionalism and adaptability.Attention to detail and proven ability to meet deadlines.Working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other software applications (or willingness to learn).Display excellent organizational and project management skills, managing multiple tasks simultaneously.Knowledge of and/or experience with social media, podcasting, and copywriting.Ability to effectively communicate in a Christ-like manner and intentionally work well with others in a team setting.Willingness to sign Youth Dynamics Statement of Faith.A passion for reaching young people.
