***The talent must have experience in product design and development for physical items such as toys, collectibles, and ornaments, including knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials.***

The Design Associate supports the product design teams in the design and development of collectibles, ornaments, and toys from concept through to production. You will assist teams to ensure the highest quality, consumer focused, trend-right product lines deliver across all channels of distribution. The product should build brand equity, meet financial targets, and deliver best in class experiences for the guest.

The products will vary in complexity in 2D and 3D figural form, include character design, and some will incorporate electronic and mechanical features. This role will also support routing, processing, and general administrative tasks.

Responsibilities:Concept, design, and sketch to communicate ideas for figural and non-figural product types that capture our clients stories.Support 3D development by providing clear and concise design direction through drawing overlays and creative notes that guide partners to develop accurate on-model characters as well as incorporating key product attributes and features.Handle and review development samples, under design manager oversight, and communicate to external and internal partners.Support in product design deliverables including product specification sheets, sculpted assets, color calls, material standards, and other design assets.Research, aquire, and distribute design assets to internal and external partners.Process incoming samples (open boxes, entering system data, and delivering to the team)Manage all outgoing shipments, maintaining mailing lists and providing tracking informationSupport teams in entering product information and assets into internal systems including Product Life Management (PLM) and Adobe Workfront.Provide additional hands-on tactile support for the Product Design teams as neededSupport in collaborative reviews with 3rd Party Content Providers to ensure prompt product feedback and approvals.Support in compiling concept decks and presentation decks for internal line reviews.Maintain, organize, and archive product samples.Ability to remain flexible in adapting and shifting priorities quickly, to meet the needs of the businessInitiative to continually update current level of expertiseKeep organized on all applicable projects and assetsBasic Qualifications:

Associate's Degree (Bachelor's Degree preferred) in industrial design, product design, toy design, or graphic design.4+ years product design/development experience requiredExperience with design/development and manufacturing of hardlines, home décor, toys, ornaments, collectibles, and/or dolls.Knowledge in hardlines/softlines categories (e.g. raw materials, plastic, textiles, print, pattern, graphic composition, manufacturing)Strong verbal and written communication skillsEntrepreneurial and innovative thinker who embraces change and takes on new challenges.Ability to prioritize and multi-task in a dynamic, deadline driven environment that revolves around multiple product development calendarsPossesses a positive attitude and contributes to a positive cultureAdvanced skills in Adobe and Microsoft applications requiredPortfolio demonstrating strong design excellence and outstanding problem solving

The target hiring compensation range for this role is $32.42 to $36.02 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
