The Executive Director of Marketing reports to the Provost and Chief Academic Officer. The Executive Director of Marketing is serves as the brand ambassador for the University and is responsible for managing all aspects of marketing operations for Life University, including providing leadership to motivate marketing professionals internal and external to reach Strategic Plan objectives within given timeframes.

The Executive Director of Marketing role requires an innovator, a trendsetter, and a progressive thinker who can identify, translate and connect our resources and assets through, creative, communication, technology with digital to all other aspects of Life University and drive growth opportunities locally and globally. Open communication skills are necessary for this position to explain marketing concepts and strategies in a non-technical manner.

Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Work closely with internal Life University Enrollment, IT, Marketing, Executive Office and other external members, to develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines, and to ensure timely completion of deliverables.Manages print and digital production process from the creative concept stage through all phases of production, including graphic design, coordination of graphics, photography and copy, preparation of files for delivery to printers, web designers, etc. Build brand equity and ensure uniform and proper use of graphic identity/logo according to established guidelines.Oversees graphic design and project management, integrating it with other elements of the creative process.Manages communications, including announcements, social media, feature articles, daily and weekly newsletters, brochures and magazine articles, etc.Manages, updates, and creates University websites. Develops new website initiatives.Directs and oversees marketing policies, objectives and initiatives. Develops and implements policies and procedures and strategies for Marketing.Manages the marketing budgeted projects for the entire University, including assurance of staying within the allotted fiscal year budget.Manage planning and oversight of key University special events.Manages overall project scope and ensures staffing assumptions adhere to budget.Manages internal customers and external partners’ expectations, bringing issues/concerns to clients' attention before they become problems, offering potential solutions, and advising of potential delivery delays.Oversees the Implementation and Monitoring of effective tracking for measuring the impact of print, social, digital campaigns and search for ROI.Develops a total understanding of online target audience and mindset modes.Provides campaign performance reporting and analysis to Provost.REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

Education, Training and/or Experience

A bachelor's degree in fine arts, graphic design, marketing or a related educational track.Minimum of 10-15 years’ experience in a true professional/business print and electronic production environment, including supervisory experience in relevant field of marketing and/or communications.A broad range of knowledge and experience in the creative side of print and electronic production and demonstrable ability to manage creative projects from concept development to implementation.Experience in supervising in-house staff as well as outside designers, illustrators, writers, videographers, developers, etc.Ability to work closely with printers and other vendors, cultivating positive relationships to inspire close, mutually productive long-term relationships.Ability to do performance appraisals and train/inspire those supervised to maximum efficiency and creative effectiveness.Demonstrated ability to work smoothly with in-house clients, providing value-added quality and creativity to such requests.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Master’s degree preferred in Business, Marketing, Communication or Digital Media.Ability to handle production pressures without losing focus, despite frequent interruptions.Experience in educational environment.Exceptional multi-tasking skills.
