Our global entertainment client is searching for a
Graphic Designer with strong technical and creative skills
to join on a 12 month assignmnet ***Hybrid in NYC (4 days onsite/Friday remote!)
The ideal candidate should have at least
3 years of Book Design Experience, preferably in trade book publishing
and able to to create and execute designs for a wide range of projects.
The ideal candidate should be very organized, and detail oriented. This designer will work with art directors, designers, editors and production managers through all phases of book making in a fast-paced and friendly environment. This position requires a creative and responsible designer to ensure smooth departmental workflow.
Responsibilities:Will handle making corrections to reprints, preparing jacket mechanicals, and formatting files for productionCreating layouts and designs for original hardcover books and converting hardcover novels to paperbackPresenting designs to art directors and editors for review and feedbackWorks collaboratively with all members of the teamsMaintains and strictly adheres to production schedules.Assists the design staff as neededWorks with other in-house departments to ensure requests are met in a timely and effective manner.Must Haves:
Minimum 3 years of book design experience, preferably in trade book publishing (samples in your portfolio will be required)Proficient in
Adobe, Photoshop., InDesign , Ability to take direction and communicate well both verbal & written, keep track of projects, detailed and very organized.Proven talent in creating innovative book design, application of typography, layout, color (well versed in print best practices)Enthusiastic, optimistic, able to interact well with others, team player and well rounded. Proficient in Adobe, Photoshop., Indesign, Ability to take direction and communicate well both verbal & written.Bach Fine Arts - from Art School, Graphic Des classes completed or equivalent.
"The target hiring compensation range for this role is the equivalent of $ 33.00 to $36.00 an hour. Compensation is based on several factors including, but not limited to education, relevant work experience, relevant certifications, and location.
