Your impact:

Hearst Magazines is seeking a dynamic Associate Director of Newsletters & Audience to join our Consumer Email team. In this role, you will be responsible for orchestrating our editorial newsletter strategy and spearheading email audience growth initiatives. You'll work across all brands including Cosmopolitan, Good Housekeeping, Esquire, Harper's Bazaar and Men's Health, driving engagement, traffic, and revenue diversification.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:Strategic Newsletter Management:

Develop and execute a comprehensive newsletter strategy in collaboration with editorial, ad sales, affiliate, and eCommerce teams to maximize audience engagement, traffic, and revenue.Audience Growth and Engagement:

Identify and implement new tactics to expand and activate our newsletter audience, focusing on increasing engagement, affiliate revenue, and membership conversions while reducing churn through both organic and paid channels.Cross-functional Collaboration:

Work closely with various teams to ensure alignment with brand strategies and to discover new opportunities for email universe expansion and newsletter experience enhancements.Revenue Goal Setting:

Establish affiliate and membership revenue targets for individual brand newsletters and collaborate with teams to achieve these objectives.Ecommerce Integration:

Create and optimize newsletters focusing on eCommerce, working alongside editorial and eCommerce teams.Welcome Series Optimization:

Develop and refine individual welcome series tailored by signup source to improve revenue and retention metrics.Vendor Relationships:

Support the daily management of our Email Service Provider (ESP), ensuring seamless operations and adherence to best practices.Best Practices and Insights:

Set and communicate best practices for list maintenance, welcome and re-engagement series, and testing frameworks. Provide insights to foster continuous improvement.Brand Support:

Empower brand editors with the tools and strategies to manage their newsletters efficiently and implement new designs.Preference Center Management:

Oversee the flow of the preference center, creation of new lists, and the management of existing ones working with operations and PD&E teams.Reporting:

Develop, maintain, and distribute newsletter performance dashboards to senior management, closely tracking and analyzing KPIs.Team Leadership:

Manage and mentor a team of four, fostering a collaborative and high-performance environment.Job Qualifications:

Minimum of four years of experience in email marketing, with a solid grasp of best practices, deliverability, testing strategies, segmentation, and legal compliance (CAN-SPAM, CCPA, GDPR).Hands-on experience with an ESP (Sailthru preferred).Strong analytical skills with the ability to translate data into actionable strategies.Proven experience in lead generation through paid, partnership, and organic channels.Budget management experience.Proficiency in Google Analytics and MS Office Suite.Working knowledge of HTML.Exceptional multitasking abilities to manage projects across multiple brands.Excellent communication and presentation skills.Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.Previous managerial experience is preferred.

The base salary for this role is between $

98,000-$117,000 . The actual base pay offered is dependent upon many factors, such as: transferable skills, work experience, business needs and market demands. The base pay range is subject to change and may be modified in the future .
