Summary of Responsibilities:

The Senior Designer creates designs and assists the Vice President and Chief Design Officer with the management and coordination of the design process for various projects. Responsibilities include collaborating and determining project goal strategies with the company's development, construction, marketing, and management teams; assisting with the selection of design teams; reviewing contract scopes of interior designers and other consultants; facilitating the interior design process through all stages of design; and consulting for bidder de-scope for applicable interior-related trades. The Senior Designer reviews concept and schematic design proposals; construction and architectural documentation; and design development to include providing feedback to the interior design team regarding design aesthetics, interior architecture, layouts and FF&E. This position reviews design intent for feasibility and constructability; engages in OAC and design coordination meetings regarding MEP, structure, and code compliance; participates in the submittal, RFI, and SK and construction administration processes; oversees design punch list and quality control review; manages FFE, OS&E and art program selections; and ensures design compliance and integrity.

The Senior Designer reviews interior design aspects for all marketing materials; effectively oversees product research and sample procurement; conducts AutoCad drafting tasks and 3D modeling; and performs other duties as assigned. This position requires working at both office/property locations and active construction sites.

Summary of Requirements:

Ideal candidates for the Senior Designer position hold a bachelor's or master's degree in Architecture or Interior Design; a minimum of five (5) years of relevant experience in interior design, interior architecture, FFE design or similar; and a knowledge of general workflow and processes for construction and design. Prior experience in the real estate development industry is preferred. Effective communication (oral and written), project management, leadership interpersonal, administrative, judgment, and technical problem-solving skills are required. The ideal candidate possesses professional and articulate presentation skills; an effective ability to present recommendations and interact with senior management and investment partners; a high attentiveness to detail; an effective ability to work independently and within a team; and the successful ability to take initiative, prioritize, multi-task, and meet deadlines. Strong architectural and interior technical skills; and the effective ability to review and redline drawings are required. Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, Adobe Creative Suite and Autodesk AutoCad is required. Proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Bluebeam and/or Acrobat, and 3D Modeling is preferred.
