The Associate Designer will work closely with the Sr. Designer & Design Director on the development of the dress line.ResponsibilitiesSupport the Design Director with the design process from initial inspiration to final prototypeResponsible for market trend research, hand sketching, computer flat sketching, garment specifications, fit, and ensuring that product is designed to meet target customer's fit criteria based on direction from their manager.Work with in-house drapers and pattern makers daily on new development and production garmentsCreate mood boards, analyze collections, perform competitive analysis, design concepts, presentation boards for meetings, mock-ups, color-ups, inspirational photosIdentify and design key items with a strong brand identityExecute development of initial seasonal design concept in context of larger assortment and cost structureCreate and execute the vision of the Design Director, ensuring that the product is consistent with market trends, while defining the brands’ identity and overall business strategy.Oversee the creation of tech packs for overseas garment developmentProvide suggestions for color ways, fabric, and trim directionCreate design sheets for both development styles, on order styles and style adds.Assist Sr. Designer at fittings when needed.Requirements5-6 years

of design experienceMust have previous

dress design

experienceMust have background working with contemporary brands (some examples are: Ramy Brooke, Rails, Reformation, Zimmerman, Theory, Dissh, Loewe, A.L.C, Veronica Beard, Totem, etc.)Very strong hand sketching skillsPossess working knowledge of garment constructionProficient in sketching flats with Adobe IllustratorSolid understanding of Adobe PhotoshopProficient with Microsoft ExcelStrong written and verbal communicationSelf-starter and proactive workerEnthusiastic and team-oriented*Examples of
