The Senior Manager, Technical Design, will manage all aspects of technical design for various product categories. They will oversee multiple teams of technical designers through the product life cycle from development through production and ensure brand integrity through consistency of fit, construction, quality and upholding Torrid fit standards.

What You'll Do:Accountable for executing design aesthetics and maintaining Torrid fit standards and the customer's needs.Lead teams in the creation of apparel specifications, weekly fittings, attend cross functional meetings and issue fit comments with direct daily contact to vendors.Manage technical design team and their daily workflow to set priorities and maintain fit approval deadlines.Accountable for fit, construction, quality, and consistency of product category from development to production, including:Developing new block fits and adjusting patterns when necessary.Attending development handover meetings and creating initial specs.Maintain block charts and on body charts for their areas, update and communicate to x functional teams.Reviewing and maintaining Torrid apparel construction, quality, grade, and tolerance standards.Identify potential production, quality and costing issues and make recommendations to ensure brand integrity.Attend meetings with Merchants, product development, and design weekly to review work in progress, best/worst sellers and discuss any updates and changes or the week with each category.Train and mentor technical team's technical and professional skill set. Providing coaching and feedback through both team meetings and personal performance evaluations.Manage multi category technical design team and their daily workflow to set priorities and maintain fit approval deadlines.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in fashion design, apparel production or textiles preferred.Minimum of seven (7) years of technical design, pattern making apparel retail, manufacturing, or design experience or equivalent.Ability to lead, train and develop talent within the technical design team.Able to proactively troubleshoot and solve highly complex problems.Strong computer skills including Adobe Illustrator, MS Word, and ExcelStrong technical skills with an emphasis on design principles, practices, and procedures.Comprehensive knowledge of fit, balance, pattern grading, garment construction/production, fabrics, and fabric performance.Illustrates a dedication to meeting requirements of internal and external customers, responding to all customers requests promptly and thoroughly.Demonstrates superior interpersonal and communication skills, including the ability to create trust with internal and cross functional team members.Upholds and furthers Torrid's culture and values.Meets deadlines, prioritizes appropriately, copes well with change, and maintains composure under pressure.Accountable for results, approaches obstacles proactively and looks for ways to resolve problems and issues.What You'll Get:
