PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIESThe Communications Manager will develop and implement marketing strategies in support of ILCM’s development, programmatic, and advocacy goals. These duties include managing external communication channels like social media platforms, ILCM’s website and media relations, writing copy for ILCM’s newsletters and fact sheets, and adhering to and enforcing ILCM’s brand by publishing content and marketing materials.The Communications Manager will work closely with the development and policy teams. This role will report to the Director of Development. The specific duties of this position include the following:Communications• Coordinate, maintain, analyze, and curate ILCM’s online presence including ILCM’s website, Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, LinkedIn, and LawHelpMN.org.• Lead creation, coordination, and distribution of ILCM’s regular communications across channels including:o Bi-monthly e-newslettero Advocacy action alertso Brochures and informational flyerso Client storieso Legal fact sheetso Quarterly news releaseso Annual report• Design graphics, create, update, and maintain printed and digital marketing materials and public facing presentations.• Maintain ILCM’s media relations including maintaining media contacts, drafting media advisories and press releases, and prepping staff for interviews & appearances.• Incorporate advocacy priorities in overall communications strategies.Marketing & Analytics• Co-develop and implement annual marketing and communications plan and budget. Monitor and report on effectiveness of plan objectives and goals.• Lead marketing strategies for fundraising and public outreach events and individual donor campaigns.• Ensure ILCM brand standards are used across the organization.• Compile analytics across channels to inform future marketing strategies.General• Manage print, design, and digital vendor relationships as needed.• Assist with events planning and marketing as needed.QUALIFICATIONS | KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & ABILITIES• Associate’s/Bachelor’s degree in a related field and/or 2-3 years of experience in a nonprofit communications role.• Knowledge of website maintenance and WordPress.• Proficient in all Microsoft programs including SharePoint, PowerPoint, Word, Excel & Outlook.• Experience with Canva and graphic design.• Experience in Adobe Suite programs, Premiere Pro, Illustrator, Photoshop a plus.• Proficient in using social media applications like Facebook, X (formerly Twitter), Instagram, and LinkedIn.• Knowledgeable of (or easily able to learn) database programs that organize client and/or contact information.• Must be a strong communicator, have excellent written, presentation, oral communications and interpersonal skills.• Must be a creative and strategic thinker with good judgment and ability to make independent decisions in a changing environment.• Able to work well in a team environment, handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.• Ability to plan, prioritize, coordinate, and manage own work.• Commitment to ILCM’s mission.
