Job Title: Work Authorization Coordinator (WAF)Location: Honolulu, HIBenefits: Salary, bonus, flights, condominium, and additional relocation benefits.Industry: Ship RepairEmployment Type: Temporary-to-PermanentDuties & Responsibilities:Ensuring all trades and subcontractors comply with the rules and regulations established by the Joint Fleet Maintenance Manual (JFMM).Verifying that all Work Authorization Forms are correctly generated and complete upon receipt and submittal.Acting as the liaison between Ships Force and Repair Activities for WAF processing and assisting in resolving tag-out conflicts.Ensuring that trades and subcontractors operate within the boundaries established by the WAF process.Coordinating and conducting WAF training with Ships Force personnel, trades, and subcontractors.Maintaining detailed records of opened WAFs and tracking production work for completion and closing of WAFs.De-conflicting and coordinating joint efforts between Repair Activities working on multiple jobs on the same systems or conflicting job processes in close proximity.Ensuring ship system tagout isolations are correct to guarantee the safety of personnel and equipment.Providing guidance to Ships Force for developing system tag outs as required.Adding and defining the scope of work for each job based on technical specifications, drawings, and other technical documentation for ship repair projects and PMAV work.Identifying isolation points to de-energize systems and components, generating tags in the eSOMS and E-Tag systems, and confirming isolation and safety measures with Ships Force.Managing time effectively in a high-stress environment to prevent delays in the authorization of production work, which directly affects the success of the availability.Requirements:Ability to read and interpret technical documents.Proficiency in navigating the eSOMS databases and familiarity with the E-Tag program.Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking.Decisive and assertive when necessary.Excellent organizational skills.Self-motivated, solutions-oriented, and proactive.
