JOB MISSION:
New Balance aims to be the premier boutique athletic brand, blending sport and culture through an editorial lens to evoke both sophistication and fun. As we transition from a classic to a contemporary brand, we seek high potential individuals who are eager to elevate us to new heights.
Design performance footwear that meets the category and overall brand creative direction with an innovative mindset. This role involves drawing inspiration from seasonal brand creative directions, engaging with consumers, researching key functional attributes, and incorporating relevant color, material, and trend information. The ideal candidate will integrate innovation, aesthetic, and engineering elements into their designs. From initial sketches to advanced 3D design technology, your work will seamlessly blend style and performance, both crucial for success. Work within the Performance Running design team to create running and running inspired designs that align with overall brand creative direction on the track, the field and the road.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:Ability to process seasonal design direction and managerial feedback to apply to your designs.Under minimal supervision, exhibit solid design skills with ability to meet key project deadlines.Work on multiple projects across several seasons.Assist others in projects to ensure that category is delivering against deadlines.Work independently within Triad team and have a strong understanding of the product creation process and timelines.Have a strong understanding of shoe construction, process and costing as well as able to prioritize workload and deliver projects on time.Travel with senior level designers and participate in creative vision and other design events.REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
0-2 years minimum in footwear design with a general understanding of footwear, design, construction, materials, sourcing and commercialization.Gravity Sketch, Adobe Illustrator, Adobe Photoshop, Sketchbook Pro, Procreate2D-3D Drawing and the ability to visualize concepts

New Balance Associates currently work in office three days per week (Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday). Our offices are fully open, and amenities are available across our North American office locations. To continue our focus on hybrid work we have introduced "Work from Anywhere" (WFA) for four weeks per calendar year. This model will help us enhance our culture while continuing to maintain elements of flexibility.
