Position Description and Qualifications

Job Posting Summary:

The Communications Manager helps develop and implement communication and marketing strategies for internal and external audiences. The manager collaborates with other members of the communications team and school administrators to maintain brand consistency and promote the School's mission and vision.

Key Responsibilities and Essential Functions:Writes and distributes weekly E-News (email newsletter), monthly Alumni News, Parent of Alumni News, and Grandparent News, and quarterly Parent Association newsletterAssists Director of Marketing and Communications with writing and editing projects, including development publications, admissions materials, college counseling materials, and school handbooksWrites, edits, and distributes communications for the head of school, division heads, development, admission, and other divisions of the schoolGenerates content and writes stories to promote student accomplishments, academics, arts, and athletics for the website, marketing materials, and social mediaContributes to biannual Ensights magazine, writing articles, interviewing, and collecting and editing contentCreates copy for ads and other marketing projects as neededUpdate digital screens across campus with relevant content and announcementsWrites and distributes press releases as assignedRepresents Ensworth at fundraising events (including some weekends)Assists with video projectsAssists with additional Advancement events and projects as neededTracks and monitors communication efficiency and analyticsDesigns and distributes communications for Parent Association eventsAbides by Ensworth's Employee Handbook and Code of ConductCommits to the ideals expressed in Ensworth's Mission Statement, Vision Statement, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion StatementQualifications/Experience:

Bachelors degree in related fieldExceptional oral and written communication skillsAble to think outside of the box and share the Ensworth story in creative, innovative, and strategic waysWorks well independently and collaborativelyEngages positively with Ensworth community, including faculty/staff, parents, trustees, and alumniMeets deadlines efficiently and manages several projects simultaneouslyMust successfully complete background screening and verificationContinued Education Programs (as required by Grade Level and/or position) - Periodically participate in different training sessions identified by you, the employee and/or Divisional Leadership/Supervisor with the goal of keeping our teachers and staff up to date with current teaching methods, practices and any new knowledge in their respective field. Depending on the program, such training may need to take place outside of normal working hours and/or in the summer months.Physical Requirements and Work Environment:

Regularly works in standard office conditions and climate, may occasionally work outdoors in varying weather conditions and climateWorks at a computer screen for extended periods of timeRegularly moves between campuses and around campus to take photos and videosAbility to occasionally move items weighing up to 30 lbs. across the campusWorks in an occasionally stressful environment, effectively dealing with a wide variety of challenges, deadlines, and a varied and diverse array of contacts, requiring stamina to maintain attention to detail despite interruptionsAbility to occasionally work flexible hours to support before and after-school or weekend eventsEnsworth requires employees to be physically present on campus, with limited exceptions that are at the sole discretion of the School. Under extraordinary circumstances, some or all of the workforce may be required to move to a remote working environment. Additionally, certain individuals may also be approved for limited remote work, based on the nature of the job description, specific circumstances, and only with written prior approval by a direct supervisor.
