Your passion for creativity, commitment to excellence, and experience in working with art museums will fuel our mission to deliver unforgettable retail experiences that elevate the cultural journey for every guest.Primary Duties & Responsibilities:VisionWorking closely with the VP of Purchasing and individual partnerships, the Director will support and execute the overall product vision ensuring that strategic goals are met and effectively communicated throughout the internal teams with clarity, precision, and focus.Pro-actively engage with partners to build and maintain healthy working relationships and exceed their expectations. Become fully immersed and educated on partnerships to creatively interpret and extend guest experience with compelling, highly-targeted product assortments.Demonstrate the ability to execute and guide strategies set forth by the VP of Purchasing to ensure alignment of product vision across the organization including purchasing, store quality, visual merchandising, creative, and our partners. Ensure seamless integration of this vision into the day-to-day operations and assortment plans.LeadershipGuide and motivate Buyers and Assistant Buyers to promote individual empowerment, facilitate effective performance, and promote strategic career development. Create an environment that thrives on open communication, collaboration, and trust, supporting a culture that rewards empowerment and courage.Invest in the training and development of individual team members. Model behaviors and provide feedback that will cultivate their success by empowering them to think and act independently.Establish and fortify relationships with cross-functional teams to ensure that there is clarity of vision, expectations, and strategic direction.Effectively communicate and clarify when necessary to ensure that there is alignment and thorough understanding of goals, strategy, and vision.Ensure that the strategic direction and initiatives set by the VP of Purchasing are effectively communicated and implemented within the team. Provide feedback and insights to aid in refining and enhancing overall strategies.Operational ExcellenceDrive business strategies and facilitate precise execution to optimize the financial performance of the business unit. Effectively lead the team and manage processes to promote continuous incremental growth and improvement of key performance indicators (Revenue/SKU, Gross Margin, and Per Capita sales).Thoroughly understand and execute actions and mechanisms that will effectively grow the business. Consult with cross-functional teams to develop sound strategies to promote growth.Manage assortments with precision and in close collaboration with Planning and Store Quality to ensure flawless execution.Effectively communicate opportunities that are new or untapped. Present thorough business plans to confirm viability.Communicate challenges and present forward thinking to stimulate under-performing businesses.Track and analyze performance metrics to ensure that insights and outcomes are shared with the VP of Purchasing and utilized to refine strategies and enhance operational effectiveness. Identify and implement process improvements that drive efficiency and effectiveness.Skills / Qualifications:Prior experience in a product/creative role in Art Museums required.Understanding of common planning and forecasting processes and procedures.Superior analytic, problem-solving, organizational, and negotiating skills.Ability to work in a fast-growth, fast-paced, entrepreneurial, values-based team environment.Ability to travel throughout the year as needed.Ability to visualize, develop, plan, and execute merchandising strategies with creativity and discipline both individually and in a team environment.Exceptionally strong and proven leadership abilities including strong verbal and written communication skills, staff motivation and development, and team building.Must be able to build and maintain strong business relationships.Superior Excel, Word, Outlook, and PowerPoint skills.Physical Demands
