In this role, you will have the opportunity to work with a great team while supporting the US Courts OSCAR program. We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Technical Writer to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for creating clear, concise, and comprehensive documentation that enhances the user experience for our products and services. This role involves collaborating with various departments to gather information, understand technical content, and produce user-friendly documentation.ResponsibilitiesDevelop and maintain technical documentation including user manuals, system guides, API documentation, installation guides, and FAQs.Write, edit, and proofread content to ensure clarity, accuracy, and consistency.Work closely with engineers, developers, product managers, and other stakeholders to gather information and understand the technical details of products and services.Conduct interviews and research to obtain necessary technical information.Organize and manage documentation using content management systems (CMS) and other tools.Ensure all documentation is up-to-date, easily accessible, and logically structured.Write documentation with the end-user in mind, ensuring technical content is easily understandable by a non-technical audience.Create visual aids such as diagrams, charts, and screenshots to enhance understanding.Adhere to company documentation standards and style guides.Ensure documentation complies with regulatory and compliance requirements.Continuously improve documentation processes and content based on user feedback and industry best practices.Stay updated with the latest trends and technologies in technical writing and documentation.Education and ExperienceBachelor’s degree in Technical Writing, English, Communications, Computer Science, or a related field.2-4 years of experience in technical writing or a related field.Required SkillsExcellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.Strong understanding of technical concepts and the ability to translate them into clear, concise documentation.Proficiency with documentation tools and software (e.g., Microsoft Word, Adobe Acrobat, MadCap Flare, RoboHelp, Confluence).Basic understanding of HTML, CSS, and XML is a plus.Strong research and analytical skills.Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.Desired SkillsExperience in a specific industry (e.g., software development, healthcare, manufacturing).Familiarity with agile development processes and tools.Knowledge of version control systems (e.g., Git).Security ClearanceEligible to obtain a government clearance.
