About the Role and Team

The Marketing and Commercial Strategy team is responsible for driving consumer demand and helping achieve business objectives (revenue, attendance, occupancy, and guest experience) for the Disneyland Resort (2 Theme Parks, 3 Hotels, and Downtown Disney). The team achieves these goals by developing business and communication strategies and partnering with cross-discipline teams to create campaigns to drive consumer behavior. The team also oversees the management of the plans to ensure each campaign or program is maximized across a wide range of marketing tactics.

The Marketing Strategy Manager will lead the development and execution of marketing plans to build relationships with and deliver business goals from each assigned segment or area of focus. Using critical thinking and team leadership skills, the Marketing Strategy Manager will guide communication planning rooted in consumer insights, exhibit sound creative judgment and drive go-to-market innovation in assigned programs. Also, they will activate unplanned revenue-driving programs, identify new market opportunities, and manage the ongoing performance and optimization.This position will report to the Senior Manager, Marketing & Commercial Strategy.You Will:

Drive annual business results by developing and executing relationship marketing programs that incorporate strategic planning, critical thinking, analytics, and innovation

Lead the strategic vision and voice of the assigned segment or area of focus to deliver a holistic communications strategy across paid and owned channels that promotes Guest engagement, satisfaction, and revenue

Manage consumer direct marketing efforts, including developing strategic briefs for media and creative, identifying key message opportunities to drive target audiences, tracking a multi-channel campaign calendar, and optimizing creative and channel strategy based on consumer, business, and/or operational findings

Oversee creative agency to support content development for social handles, as well as capture content and build assets when needed

Provide actionable creative and strategic feedback to partners across the entire marketing organization

Monitor consumer sentiment and analyze our business’ performance, needs, risks and opportunities to recommend insights-driven solutions that address gaps in forecast or competitive marketplace

Build positive relationships with partners across disciplines to ensure flawless execution of tactics

Basic Qualifications:

3-5+ years of relevant experience with a proven history of executing relationship marketing campaigns and developing new processes and strategies that drive marketing campaign success across multiple channels, including organic and paid social, paid media, email, direct mail, and other direct channels

Understanding of marketing and media landscape

Understanding of a broad set of marketing disciplines – covering PR, creative, media, social and digital, partnerships, et al.

Proven creative skills including copywriting and basic design (Canva)

Critical thinking and the ability to succinctly frame up a verbal or written POV that influences leaders, partners and peers

Strong presentation skills – visualizing data, creating clear narrative within a presentation and creation of presentation decks

Strong analytical skills and the ability to work with complex data sets

Demonstrated ability to project manage a high-volume, fast-paced portfolio of tactical programs

Productive partnerships in and out of marketing, as well as cross-functional team leadership in a collaborative and inclusive environment

Computer proficiency (PowerPoint, Keynote, Excel, Word)

Preferred Qualifications:

Previous experience in marketing strategy, membership strategy, consumer packaged goods (CPG), advertising agency and/or brand management

Experience leading and implementing strategic roadmaps for national-level marketing campaigns

Spanish language and cultural understanding desirable

Required Education:

Bachelor’s Degree in Marketing, Business, Communications or Equivalent

Preferred Education:

MBA or related post-graduate degree

The base pay actually offered will take into account internal equity and also may vary depending on the candidate’s geographic region, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience among other factors. A bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided as part of the compensation package, in addition to the full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits, dependent on the level and position offered.
