Associate Textile Designer

Devgiri is a rug and home textile design and manufacturing company with offices and showrooms in Atlanta, New York and India. Products include handmade and machine-made indoor and outdoor area and accent rugs, printed rugs, indoor/outdoor rugs, kitchen and utility rugs, bath rugs, shower curtains, window curtains, table linens and soft kitchen. Key US customers include Target, West Elm, Pottery Barn, Walmart, TJ Maxx/HomeGoods, World Market, Lowe's and Home Depot.Devgiri is seeking a new Associate Textile Designer to add to a growing home textile product development & design team. The position will focus on the window curtain category reporting to the Senior Window Curtain Designer. The Associate Textile Designer- will work very closely with the window curtain design team, the sales & merchandising teams and the sampling units in India. The job roles involve a mix of independent projects and support projects.ResponsibilitiesCAD and fabric development for the window curtain categoryResearch trend, design and color in the Window Curtain category for trends and customer projectsCreate color palettes working with the senior teamMeet with sales team to review customer projects. Provide design and other meeting materials as requiredKeep up to date on Window Curtain retail and US/international color, design and sales trendsCommunicate with overseas PD team for the design and product development of new designs and productsMaintain fabric construction libraries and product swatchesSupport showroom set-up for US markets.QualificationsPrior experience of 2-3 years as home textile or textile designerBachelor's Degree in Textile DesignIn depth understanding of textile jacquard and dobby construction and manufacturing textiles for weaving and printing processes1-2 years working directly with overseas factoriesCandidate must be proactive, resourceful and efficient with good organization skillsKeen sense of urgency, initiative and motivationProfessional verbal and written communication skillsAble to take direction and work in a collaborative team environmentExpert-level knowledge of Adobe Creative SuiteWorking knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Powerpoint)Must be located in the Atlanta area or willing to relocateOpen to international and domestic travel. Travel will be determined by previous experience and growth in the position.The position is based in Atlanta and the design office is located downtown Atlanta.Hybrid schedule- 3 days/week in Atlanta office. 2 weeks a year for remote working.Devgiri offers health, dental, vision benefits, paid maternity and 401(k).Please submit a resume and portfolio.The portfolio should show a range of work including weaves/printed fabrics and CAD designs to show drawing style, color sense and style aesthetic.
