This role provides strategic communications advice and support, developing and implementing corporate communication strategies aligned to CIBC’s business strategy.At CIBC we enable the work environment most optimal for you to thrive in your role. You'll have the flexibility to manage your work activities within a hybrid work arrangement where you'll spend 1-3 days per week on-site, while other days will be remote.What you'll be doingRecommending and building strategies to develop key messages, employee communications, Intranet content, and external communications designed to improve company reputation, employee relations, enhance company culture, and ensure that communication activities are aligned to the US Region strategy and objectives.

Applying leadership skills and technical expertise to align on team priorities, set and meet deadlines, ensure that communications meet employees' information requirements and lead end-to-end communications initiatives.

Assisting with external communication strategies, including media engagement, contributing to US Region awards and recognitions, and press releases.

Working closely with key partners and stakeholders across the bank to develop and execute communication strategies and plans, and various leader and team events (virtual and in-person) that foster a solid understanding of the bank's purpose and strategic direction.

Providing counsel and help draft communications for US region crisis and issues management.

Providing communication support for senior leadership, applying strategic communications, expert interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.

Driving innovation by leveraging and exploring new ways of communicating, both internally and externally, to drive employee and external stakeholder engagement.

Leveraging communication tools and metrics to track and analyze communication strategies.

How you'll succeedClient engagement –

Build and execute on communication strategies in employee communications, Intranet content, and external communications designed to enhance company culture and ensure that communication activities are aligned to the US Region strategy and objectives. You will work closely with the senior management team of the business to develop and execute communication strategies and plans, and various leader and team events (virtual and in-person) that foster a solid understanding of the purpose-driven and strategic direction of their businesses and CIBC as a whole.

Relationship building -

Create trusted advisor relationships and influence with the senior management team.

Leadership and Collaboration

- Collaborate and manage relationships with executives and senior leaders for purposes of developing and implementing communications strategies/programs, key messages, team events, speeches, and presentations. Lead the development of communication plans, prepare and execute communications material that reinforces our purpose to make clients' ambitions real and drives our bank's competitive advantage.

Identify opportunities to improve the efficiency and effectiveness

of internal communications processes, tools, and channels.

Monitor and measure the impact of internal communications activities

and provide recommendations for improvement.

Who you areProgressive experience in

the field of internal and external communications, including principles, practices, and processes.

Well-developed knowledge of

communications principles, along with communications writing and presentation development skills.

You can demonstrate experience in

project management.

Well-developed problem identification and communication principles

to develop and implement effective communication strategies.

You can demonstrate experience with

in-depth advisory and consultative skills.

Well-developed ability to develop creative solutions

that address difficult or complex issues and to provide sound advice and guidance to senior-level executives.

Well-developed ability to function as a key consultant

to senior management and division heads and to work collaboratively with business leaders in the delivery of consistent, aligned communications strategies.

Senior-level experience in

employee communications and change management.

You have a degree in

Business/Journalism/Communications, or equivalent or relevant area or specialty.
