This position aims to support equity and access throughout our integral volunteer programs and STEM education and outreach efforts, with a goal of increasing diversity and inclusion in our staff, volunteer, and student communities.Responsibilities: This position is an integral part of a team including biologists, educators, volunteers, youth, and teens working together to conserve Alaskas boreal birds.The overarching goals of this position include: (1) Developing an organizational Communication and Outreach Plan including strategies to retain and expand our membership and volunteer base, to increase the breadth of our outreach; and to increase diversity and inclusion in our programming; (2) Establishing and chairing an Education & Outreach Advisory Committee to guide program development and to support increasing diversity, equity, and access to ASIs programming, resources, and learning opportunities; (3) Developing ASIs youth and teen STEM mentoring programs to include increased recruitment and support for groups traditionally under-represented in STEM fields with a focus on low income and Alaska Native communities.Status & Compensation: This is an AmeriCorps VISTA position.
