About the TeamEnterprise Services and Public Affairs (ESPA) seeks to enhance and protect the reputation of Citi, its businesses and the brand through direct and indirect communication with Citi's various stakeholders, including our colleagues. Corporate Communications is a nimble team in ESPA that covers a broad scope of responsibilities, including executive communications, public engagements, corporate reputation programs as well as communications supporting our lines of business. The nature of the work provides a dynamic environment where members of the team serve as company spokespeople to media, drive engagement with colleagues and develop external and internal digital communications for a global workforce of more than 200,000 colleagues. Within Citi, the team works with many internal partners, including senior leadership, and regularly coordinates closely with other members of the ESPA across the world.The Head of Communications, Enterprise Services & Public Affairs and Global Legal Affairs & Compliance (ESPA and GLAC) will manage Citi’s internal and external communications efforts for the two functions and their leaders’ executive visibility. Key groups across these functions organizations include: Sustainability & ESG, Community Investing & Development, Real Estate Services, Headquarters, Global Legal Affairs, Compliance and more. This role manages senior professionals and requires the ability to prioritize high-impact communications work in an ever-evolving landscape. Excellent communication and relationship-management skills are required in order to influence and effectively communicate with a wide range of audiences.Primary ResponsibilitiesLead a communications strategy that enhances Citi’s profile and reputation and reflects its strategic prioritiesManage and oversee media relations through short-and-long-term strategies to elevate Citi and its relevant executives across financial, business, trade and consumer media outletsOversee internal and external corporate communications including: Sustainability, Real Estate, Financial Inclusion, Legal, etc.Develop and maintain strong working relationships with key media outletsMange the development and production of a variety of communications materials, including company messaging and statements, communications plans, press releases, blog posts, FAQs, and other collateralLead a team of professionals that support key areas of workDevelop talent and manage performance of team members to achieve a standard of excellenceWork cross-functionally with many teams across Citi, including HR, IR, Legal, Communications, Marketing, Research, etc.Qualifications and Education15+ years of relevant experience, 5+ years of managerial experienceIn-depth familiarity with both media relations and internal communicationsExperience pitching financial, business, technology, and industry publicationsSubject matter expertise in ESG, Sustainability and Social Impact is a priorityAbility to synthesize complex concepts to create key messages that are consistent but tailored to various stakeholdersStrong and prolific writing and editing skillsSkills in planning, organizing, prioritizing, and executing simultaneous projects and activitiesComfortable working in a fast-paced corporate environment with sensitive informationTakes initiative, anticipates next steps and sets high standards in all he/she doesStrong relationship management skills and experience working with stakeholders cross-functionally and globallyCreative, thoughtful approach to work product and regularly brings forward new ideasExperience managing third-party agency relationshipsPersuasive when presenting to larger groups or in regular meetings, both internally and externallyExceptional attention to detailIntegrity, maturity, dependability, and a positive professional attitude------------------------------------------------------Job Family Group:Communications and External Relations ------------------------------------------------------Job Family:Communications Management ------------------------------------------------------Time Type:Full time ------------------------------------------------------Primary Location:New York New York United States ------------------------------------------------------Primary Location Full Time Salary Range:$170,000.00 - $300,000.00
