We're seeking a Head of Developer Marketing to lead our team of Product Marketing Managers (PMMs) focused on the developer audience. This role is crucial in driving DigitalOcean's growth by creating compelling messaging, go-to-market strategies, and campaigns that resonate with our target audience of individual developers and small teams.Key Responsibilities

Lead and mentor a team of PMMs, fostering a culture of innovation and developer-centric thinking.Develop and execute the overall marketing strategy for DigitalOcean's developer audience.Create product positioning and messaging that effectively communicates our value proposition in the cloud computing and AI space.Design and implement go-to-market strategies for new products and features.Collaborate closely with other teams (Growth, Developer Advocacy, Developer Content, and Partnerships) to ensure consistent brand messaging and drive product adoption.Leverage market research and competitive analysis to inform marketing and product strategies.Own and track the product roadmap, ensuring excellent product launches.Build and execute campaigns to drive adoption and revenue for new products.Oversee the creation of marketing campaigns that effectively target and engage developers.Work with the Developer Content team to ensure alignment of content strategy with overall marketing goals.Qualifications

In-depth experience in product marketing, preferably in developer-focused tech companies.Proven track record of leading and mentoring high-performing marketing teams.Deep understanding of developer audiences and the cloud computing/AI landscape.Strong analytical skills and data-driven decision-making approach.Excellent communication and storytelling abilities.Experience with product-led growth strategies, marketing campaign/demand gen execution.Ability to influence technical decision-makers and product teams.Familiarity with developer tools, platforms, and communities.Key Performance Indicators

Number of Qualified Leads generated and percentage that convert to paying customers.Conversion rates from outbound campaigns to product signups.Activation rates for new products/features, customer retention rates, and churn rates.Marketing activities influence developer mindshare.Growth in market share relative to competitors (win/loss analysis, AR placement).Customer Feedback and NPS score.Team performance and feedback during annual employee surveys.Why You’ll Like Working for DigitalOcean

The salary range for this position is between $225,000 - $258,000 based on market data, relevant years of experience, and skills a premium would apply to NYC OR SF. You may qualify for a bonus in addition to base salary; bonus amounts are determined based on company and individual performance. We also provide equity compensation to eligible employees, including equity grants upon hire and the option to participate in our Employee Stock Purchase Program.We value diversity and inclusion.
