Producing Artistic Director, NextStop Theatre CompanyPosted On06/25/2024Job OverviewNextStop Theatre Company, located in Herndon, Virginia, is in search of our next Producing Artistic Director, who will continue to build on the foundation established by our founding Producing Artistic Director. We are seeking an individual who will bring vision to our programming and who will embrace our mission, values and community, including diversity.Immediate key artistic and producing responsibilities include selecting the 2025-26 season, guiding the educational and special programming, aligning them with our mission, values, and diversity, equity and inclusion commitments. This individual will be responsible for the artistic quality and delivery of all current and future productions and programs. It is expected that this individual will direct at least one mainstage production annually and oversee all events in the theater, including rentals, single events, cabarets, and co-productions.As one of the top executives of the organization, this individual will serve as the primary brand ambassador for the theater. Cultivation of relationships within the community, as well as other theaters and artistic leaders, will be expected.This individual will be required to work in collaboration with the Executive Director and the Board of Directors in implementing and supporting the organization’s strategic plans, developing production budgets, implementing policies and procedures for the overall management of the organization, and ensuring a safe and inclusive work environment. This position also manages the artistic, education and production staff, including the Director of Education and the Technical Director, and works closely with the operations, development and marketing staff.In the belief that the tone is set at the top, it will be critical that this individual fosters not only the highest level of performance quality and diversity, but also a positive and supportive work environment.
