Launch Lead

is responsible for the successful launch and long-term success of losmapimod in the US. This role will lead a senior-level cross-functional launch team, including Market Access, Sales, Medical Affairs, Business Operations, Trade, and will develop pre-launch and launch plans for the US, ensuring excellence in launch execution and building a US commercial team. This requires strong cross-functional leadership, communication, deep knowledge of rare disease and entrepreneurial skills to build novel approaches to bring this first-in-class treatment to patients. Additional responsibilities include navigating access and pricing environment and shaping regulatory approval process. All this needs to be done with a strong focus on compliance. This position will report to the Chief Commercial Officer. This individual must be someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and is strategic, proactive, and hands-on. The role will be based in Cambridge Massachusetts.Roles And ResponsibilitiesLaunch LeaderParticipate as key member of commercial leadership team, driving commercial strategy and leading cross-functional launch team (Market Access, Operations, Trade & Distribution, Medical Affairs) to drive business decisions and achieve launch goals.Drive strategy for losmapimod, working with the cross-functional team to refine brand strategy/tactics over time, and lead marketing team in executing tactics.Identify a go-to-market plan, execute it, and measure effectiveness through pre-determined key performance indicators (KPIs).Build internal commercial capabilities to support launch (implementation of SOPs, IT infrastructure, etc.).Brand LeadDevelop the commercial ambition for the brand (short, mid, and long term) and deploy strategies to achieve business goals, maintain/improve sales, profit, market share and cash flow. Achieve sales, profit and market share within agreed budgets.Develop brand vision, value proposition, positioning, branding elements, and marketing messages to enhance overall value proposition.Serve as a subject matter expert for disease, product and the treatment landscape in the US; have a thorough understanding of the US healthcare environment, and analyze qualitative and quantitative market data to generate a deeper understanding of the unmet needs, to define brand and market potential.Build strong relationships with KOLs, patient advocacy groups, and key customers to identify customer needs and drive commercial development.Execute marketing strategy for successful launch, including:

Build compelling brand story rooted in customer insights, strong understanding of customer behavior, and key barriers to adoption.Decide on the optimal promotion, e-business and other vehicles to compliantly communicate brand and disease messages.Support the needs of internal/external customers to ensure proper pull-through of messaging and marketing campaigns through sales team and patient education liaisons.Collaborate with Head of Market Access on creation of payer materials for key account field personnel.Ensure all promotional activities are in compliance with guidelines and regulations.

AllianceEffectively partner with Sanofi to leverage their global expertise in rare diseases.Act as the co-chair of Joint Commercial Committee, manage the day-to-day relationships by aligning on key decisions and resolving conflicts.People and OrganizationBuild a best-in-class marketing team.Provide personal leadership to inspire and motivate marketing teams to continuously strive for excellence.Essential Experience And QualificationsBachelor’s degree required; MBA preferred.A seasoned and well-rounded leader with at least 10 years of demonstrated success in a variety of roles of progressively greater scope and responsibility.Experience working collaboratively and cross-functionally with marketing brand teams, market research, sales, managed markets, sales operations, medical affairs, business development, regulatory, research & development, manufacturing, finance and legal.Minimum of 3 years people management experience.Biotech/pharm US product launch experience.Experience with thought leader management.Demonstrated characteristics of collaboration, adaptability, and problem-solving.Forward thinker, strong leadership skills, results oriented, organized self-starter able to manage multiple priorities.Outstanding track record of strong communication, presentation, analytic and strategic capabilities.Some travel could be required.
