Position Summary:Incumbent provides strategic vision and leadership for UCI Health, advancing the institution's priorities through public and media relations, marketing and advertising, promotional partnerships, and internal and executive communication. Leads marketing, advertising and branding efforts, including comprehensive strategic marketing with brand content development with collaborations with physicians, community stakeholders, health sciences schools and senior management. Provides high-level oversight and support to campaigns and related activities throughout UCI Health. develop strategic communications plans, initiatives, positioning and messaging, particularly those related to patient care, population health, research, and education.What It Takes to be Successful

Required Qualifications:Strong planning, financial and analytical skills to provide effective leadership for assigned areasMust possess the skill, knowledge and ability essential to the successful performance of assigned dutiesMust demonstrate customer service skills appropriate to the jobMinimum of ten years relevant public relations, communications or media experienceMinimum 10 years' experience of progressive management responsibilityExperience in managing and mentoring professionals in a deadline-driven environmentExperience in complex, decentralized organizations, such as an academic medical center, medical school or major research university.Excellent written and verbal communication skills in EnglishExcellent negotiation skills and proven ability to influence others internal and external to the organizationEvidence of sound critical thinking skills and the ability to think creatively and strategically to identify new business opportunitiesDirect communication experience in an academic healthcare, health sciences, or other clinical/research-related enterprise.Bachelor's degree in related field.Ability to successfully represent the UC Irvine Enterprise to the external communityAbility to maintain a work pace appropriate to the workload
