Responsibilities
Responsible for obtaining and tracking authorization for all patients for whom their insurance requires pre-authorization. This position requires multi-tasking, computer skills, good oral and written communication and customer service etiquette. Function as a part of the team and keep everyone apprised of the authorization situation. Responsible for Agency's ability to bill and be paid for visits made by the field staff.Answer telephones and provide excellent customer service to our professional staff and insurance representativesRun and utilize computer reports regularlyProvide accurate, complete updates to Agency management on status of authorizations for all patients requiring treatment authorizationObtain and track authorization for all patients for whom their insurance requires pre-authorizationClearly document all authorization requestsCommunicate with multiple disciplinesNotify Supervisor of problems in a timely manner and works to help provide solutionsOther duties as assigned
Qualifications
Excellent phone and customer service skillsSuccessful completion of LPN programPossess current professional license in good standing and maintainsExperience in dealing with insurance companiesComputer skills to include word, data entryMust follow written and verbal instructionsMust pay attention to detailUse computer programs effectivelyCommunicate effectively verbally and in writingListen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentencesCommunicate information and ideas in speaking so others will understand
