Actalent Engineering is seeking a qualified Manager of Renewables Design to join our team in our Overland Park, KS office. This opportunity is to directly join an engineering firm with 42 years of solid growth through the development of employees and loyal clients around the Kansas City, Wichita, and Oklahoma City areas. Requirements:

• Minimum of Bachelor of Science Electrical Engineering from an ABET accredited program.

• Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Kansas preferred.

• Minimum of 7-10 years of work experience related to Renewables Design or related area required.

• Able to lead and mentor a small team of engineers in a collaborative, team environment.

• Knowledgeable on applicable codes and industry standards including the National Electric Safety Code (NESC), National Electric Code (NEC), Rural Utility Service (RUS) Bulletins & applicable IEEE & IEC Standards.

• Proficient with various software packages including AutoCAD, Mathcad, and other design tools.

• Working knowledge with design tools including PVcase, PVsyst, Aspen One-Liner, ETAP, SKM Power Tools, WinIGS, GroundMat desirable.

• Familiar with design of Inverter Based Resources (IBRs) applied in both small and large-scale Photovoltaic (PV) and Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) designs.

Responsibilities:

• Provide leadership and direction for a small team of Engineers, Designers and/or Drafters to collaboratively work with various discipline engineering teams, developing renewable project design packages.

• Lead by example, providing mentoring to facilitate growth and development of team members.

• Develop and foster client relationships built on work excellence, success and integrity.

• Lead the Renewables Design Team in performing various engineering-related activities related to the creation of design packages, integrating client supplied standards and requirements.

• As required, serve as Engineer of Record (EOR) in area of expertise, sealing design drawings as required.

• Routine interaction with internal team members as well as external facing vendors and/or Clients.

• Development of proposals, scopes, estimates, schedules, and conceptual/feasibility studies to support awarding and execution of projects.

• Collaboratively work with various discipline engineering teams, working to develop project design packages.

• Facilitate the development of renewable design drawing packages which may include:

o General Arrangements & Layouts

o Elevations & Section Details

o Below Grade Conduit Plans & Schedules o Single-Line, Three-Line, Phasing Diagrams, Schematics, Cable Schedules, etc.

o Ground Grid Design & Grounding Details

o Bill of Materials (BOM)

o Lightning Protection Plans/Analysis o Control Building Layouts & Equipment

• Develop bid documents and material specifications.

• Review vendor submittals and provide analysis/feedback.

• Provide engineering expertise to develop design solutions and meet client needs.

• Continual interaction with internal team members as well as external facing vendors and/or Clients.
